HURRICANE FLORENCE UPDATE

Wednesday, September 12, 2018

Dear Friends,

Hurricane Florence – Emergency Number (910) 303-0040

Hurricane Florence will soon be a reality on the North and South Carolina coast.

ORH thanks Pastor Alan Jenkins, leader of Nehemiah’s Network, in Cleveland, OH, for allowing ORH to join with them in collecting and shipping supplies.  This ministry is a true blessing, and Pastor Jenkins is a real servant.

ORH thanks Pastor Bob Vradenburgh and Friendship Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC, for delivering the first truck of relief supplies to Grace Baptist Church and FBN radio network in Newport, NC.  Michael Peterson and Diane Braswell ordered the food, water, diapers, and paper supplies; and Michael secured transportation.    He delivered five pallets of supplies on Wednesday afternoon before the storm.

ORH thanks Brad Kennon, also from Friendship Baptist, for volunteering to gather information about storm damage.  ORH will use his information to direct church work teams preventing wasted time and funds.  Brad’s information will provide opportunities for Gospel ministry through the work teams.  Pray for Brad’s safety and success.

ORH thanks Pastor Skip Furrow and Northpoint Baptist Church, Winston Salem, NC.  Rick Williamson and Tom Hill helped Michael Peterson load and deliver the supplies to Newport, NC.  Winston Salem was the closest place to obtain the truck and supplies.

ORH was able to provide $8000.00 for this shipment to Grace Baptist.  Pastor Eborn and his church, Grace Baptist, have always been a source of supply for many of ORH’s relief efforts in the United States.

ORH thanks Grace Baptist Church of Brunswick, OH for volunteering once again to collect relief supplies.  Nehemiah’s Network directed ORH to contact Ralph Pence a member of Grace.  In Harvey and Maria, the church people were just amazing.  Through Brother Pence’s leadership the church shipped about 8 tractor-trailers of relief supplies.  Once again, they are willing to help.  Brother Pence said he would work as long as the Gospel was given because of their efforts.

ORH thanks Pastor Chris Humburg from Altoona, Iowa, for being the first to contact ORH about a work team possibility.   He asked about possibly helping Anchor Baptist Church, Pastor Carl Wood.

Once again ORH’s Air Hope Ministry will be led by Dave Spangler, Flying 4 God.  He will provide air support to those in the disaster zone.  His plane can deliver up to 1000 pounds of relief goods with each flight.  In Harvey, he delivered workers to the Houston area from Florida.  Pray we will have the funds necessary to fly the needed missions.

ORH also thanks Pastor Bob Harrison of Fellowship Baptist Church in Economy, PA, for volunteering to organize churches in the Pennsylvania area to collect relief supplies for the efforts of ORH.  This is not the first time he and his church have been a blessing to those in need.

Please pray that funds will be available to continue the efforts in Hurricane Florence.
