Thursday, August 15, 2019

Dear Friends,

HURRICANE MICHAEL – VICTORY BAPTIST/TED WEINBERG

Ted Weinberg is in Panama City, FL working with Victory Baptist Church trying to restore the Church to pre-Michael condition.  He sent the following message from the Church worksite.

“We are currently insulating and installing sheet rock in the foyer. Also installing suspended ceilings other classrooms and the fellowship hall.”

ORH has committed both money to the Church and to the support of Ted Weinberg so the Church can rebuild.  Ted needs volunteers if he is going to finish the work.  If you can help, call Ted at 507-884-7223.  Download the attachment to see the work in progress.  Please help Ted.

KASESE, UGANDA – PASTOR ZEBEDEE’S MOUNTAIN SCHOOL

Pastor Zebedee has a mountain school just a small way from Kasese where ORH conducted a clinic for Matt Stensaas.  Pastor Zebedee and his congregation on the mountain attended, and Pastor Zebedee helped with the clinic.

“Hello Sir, i want to submit my humble request to you and your team,  we have a greatest need at our church school, our school pupils are not having some furniture to seat on in class and I am having 300 kids and they don't seat comfortable they write on thighs , so I am praying about buying 75 desks and each desk seats on 4 pupils/ students.  So if you can get some one who may be willing to help that would be a big and huge blessing. And each desk costs 22$ . Thank you God bless you, and the work you are doing.”

ORH will attempt to help them with $1000.00 toward the desks.  Please download the attachment to see the needs.

PANAMA BLESSING HELPING MARTITA

Friday, August 9, 2019

Dear Friends,

Caisan, Panama; Martita’s Care

While doing a clinic in Caisan, Panama, in October 2018, our doctors were asked to come to a villager’s home to help a woman in distress after a surgery.  Her home was a lean-to tarp structure against a home.  ORH doctors got involved with Martita; she had bladder surgery, and her bladder had been “nicked” allowing urine to escape.  ORH family members immediately went to work to help Martita and her daughters.

Jim Childress working with Pastor Roderick de Garcia led our October 2018 medical clinic where Martita’s medical and housing problems were discovered.  They continued to help her and sent us a report.

“While waiting on a site to build a room.  With limited medical attention, Martita has recuperated 90% of normal body functions that did not exist when she met our medical doctors and our church.  We are also helping the daughters with funds for legal documents and materials they can make handcraft things to sell.”

“So far, we have spent $1792.50 not counting some minor expenses and a few medicines.  We are very grateful for the participation of Operation Renewed Hope.  Martita now experiences a higher quality of life than what she had experienced.  But still has a long way to go to have a normal living experience.

Please download the attachment with pictures and a lengthier report.  We are thankful for Pastor Roderick, and ORH sends support so he can follow-up the spiritual impact at the Caisan Clinic of 2018.  He and Jim Childress are great blessings to the work of ORH.

If you wish to give by credit or debitcard, please go to www.operationrenewedhope.org and choose “Network for Good.”  Please designate the gift for specific purpose using “My preference is” then stipulate your preference.

ALBANIA AND UGANDA

Friday, August 2, 2019

Dear Friends,

ALBANIA BLESSINGS

God’s people are gracious and kind when supporting those working for the Lord.  In an update about Albania, ORH reported about Andi and Irda working with Michael Fiocchi, and ORH’s desire to help them with support of $200.00 per month.  God immediately sent a family wishing to donate toward their support.  We are so thankful that God’s people follow His leading in the support of ministry.

UGANDA 2019 MEDICAL CLINIC

The country of Uganda has always been a great blessing.  In July of 2019, ORH, once again, conducted evangelistic clinics there.  Keith and Sally Stensaas, faithful missionaries with Baptist International Missions, led our teams.

Keith’s new mission work is taking him into outlying bush villages, and ORH has joined with him.  Our team with Ugandan partners totaled 95 people.  This number made it possible to have two full medical teams.  The teams ministered in two villages approximately 25 km apart.

Over 2000 people came to the clinics received medical care and heard a clear message of the Gospel preached by national pastors.  Over 300 made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus.  The national pastors have their names and have pledged to follow up the converts.  Keith Stensaas wrote this to us after the teams returned home.

“Brother Jan,

Wanted to send you a note to convey my gratitude for all your sacrifice and giving on our behalf.  I believe the clinics were a great success.  There were over 60 new people in the two churches on the Sunday following the clinics.  What a blessing!!  Thank you also, for the monetary gift.  That was truly an answer to prayer and was needed at the present time.  God always knows right when we need something!!”

Please pray for these pastors, their churches, and Keith as they follow up these families.  Praise the Lord for those added to the church.  Please download the PDF.

As always we found many who needed more help than we could provide.  Pray for a young man 17 years old with a damaged hip that healed improperly.  Alan Sutphen also a missionary physician assistant is taking this to a medical doctor who may be able to help this young man with surgery.  Pray ORH will have the funds to secure this surgery.

HURRICANE MICHAEL UPDATE

Tuesday, July 2, 2019

Dear Friends,

HURRICANE MICHAEL UPDATE

ORH has received information from Ted Weinberg concerning Victory Baptist Church in Panama City, FL.  Victory buildings were badly damaged by Hurricane Michael last year.

Ted wrote the following to Brother Steve Perrine, pastor of Victory Baptist Church.  He is outlining things that must get done for Ted and his team to start restoration work in August.  Please read and pray for these things.

“We are about a month away from beginning the project. As of today, there are 5 people committed to coming in August. At this point we do not have a cook for the August team. Darcy will be driving down with our construction trailer in tow.  He will be bringing our tools and some of the materials.  Kevin McCoy is working on the building permit. Below are some items that we need your help with.

1. Check on the availability of a scissor lift that we can rent. It needs to be able to fit thru your double doors into the foyer and reach at least 20’ high. Do we need to reserve it?

2. The electrician that will be wiring the foyer lights could use our scissor lift to do his work. If the scissor lift could be delivered on July 31 then the electrician could wire the lights on August 1st and hopefully the electrical inspection could happen shortly thereafter. This timing is critical to keep scissor lift rental to a minimum and to keep the sheetrock install on time. Can you arrange for an electrician to do the wiring on this schedule?

3. We discussed having an architect draw up the details for the stonework at the church entry. How is that going?

4. We intend to start in the foyer as soon as we arrive. If there are delays in the foyer- work then we will work on suspended ceiling in another area….

Sorry to put all this on your plate.  Thanks, Ted”

Pray that all the plans are successful in the tight schedule, so Ted can save money.

Ted has worked with ORH in Hurricane Maria with Dr. Johnny Daniels; in Hurricane Florence with Pastor Carl Wood; and now, in Hurricane Michael with Steve Perrine.   ORH has contributed substantially to Ted’s income each month so he can stay on site and continue restoration work.  Again, ORH will do the same here in Panama City.  ORH has committed $4000.00 to Ted’s missionary work through his church, Grace Baptist, in Owatonna, MN.

Pray for the work of Ted’s team.  Also, pray about going to Panama City and helping Ted.  Contact him at weinberghere@abwe.cc, if you have carpentry skills.

If you wish to give by credit or debit card, please go to www.operationrenewedhope.org and choose “Network for Good.”  Please designate the gift for specific purpose using “My preference is” then stipulate your preference.

If you wish to give by check, please send the check to Operation Renewed Hope, P.O. Box 43242, Fayetteville, NC 28309.  Please designate the gift for your specific purpose using “My preference is” then stipulate your preference.

ALBANIA 2019 MEDICAL CLINIC

Wednesday, June 5, 2019

Dear Friends,

ALBANIA EVANGELISTIC MEDICAL CLINIC

It is always a blessing to tell about our evangelistic medical clinics.  In May 2019, ORH conducted four clinic days in Albania with missionaries Mike and Jennifer Fiocchi.  Mike is a missionary with Baptist World Mission.

This is the fourth clinic that ORH has joined with Mike Fiocchi.  The impacts have all been good with at least one church plant going strongly.  This clinic was conducted in the area around Korce which is in the south eastern part of Albania.  We visited 3 villages in the area, Maliq, Pojan, and Vreshtas.

The four clinic days were full of patients totaling 1075+.  As people came for their health care, they were asked to listen to a gospel message.  Mike and his faithful men, Ari and Andi gave the gospel as the team labored.  Four people came to Christ which was a great blessing.

As in other clinics, it was our great joy to go into an area which was heavily entrenched in religion and give a message of repentance and faith.  Pray now as we seek to follow up the work there.

Also, please pray for the people in the clinic area because of an earthquake which occurred on June 4, in the evening.  Mike sent us this message from the people in the area requesting help.

“The most necessary things to be considered for the following days:

Three meals/day for 180 people (breakfast, lunch, dinner) Beds, mattresses, pillows, blankets, Clothes, hygiene-sanitary day care packages, Latrines and portable showers, Kitchen utensils, Financial support for the restoration of the damaged houses, House furniture, We would appreciate your consideration for the above mentioned requests and cooperate with us to solve this considerable human crisis for these residents and Municipality of Korca.”

ORH has committed $1000.00 so Mike can help in the efforts.  Pray that this deeply religious area can be impacted by the compassion of Christ through the church.

If you wish to give by credit or debit card, please go to www.operationrenewedhope.org and choose “Network for Good.”  Please designate the gift for specific purpose using “My preference is” then stipulate your preference.

Celina, OH and Malawi

Friday, May 31, 2019

Dear Friends,

OHIO TORNADOS

The tornados that tore through Ohio left many people in need.  Tim Shank from Calvary Baptist Church, Findlay, OH, wrote about known needs in the Celina, OH, area.

“Just talked to….  He is one of my former employers having worked for him for 7 years.  He is a leader in the Celina Church of the Nazarene.  This church is located about 100 yards from where a man was killed, and 6 houses are gone and many are seriously damaged.”

From Tim’s contact, ORH was able to reach Pastor Tom Cooper of Faith Baptist Church in Elida, OH.  Pastor Cooper agreed to help ORH to help the people in Celina that may be in need.  The goal is to give the Gospel and physical care.  Pray for this good brother and his church as they engage the world one soul at a time.

If you know of anyone in need as a result of flooding or tornados, please contact ORH.

MALAWI VMA CLINIC

April 26, Eric Chapman and his team, conducted another medical clinic in a region of Malawi.  ORH has joined with Eric in these evangelistic medical clinics through the VMA (Village Medical Assistant) program.

The gospel was preached, and medical care provided to 223 people.  Eric wrote the following concerning the accomplished mission.

“Every person listened to the preaching of the Gospel before seeing a doctor and receiving medicine.  Two people were saved and about 8 others received spiritual counseling.”

ORH was privileged to provide $500.00 toward the cost of the clinic and is thankful for the partnership with Eric in the harvest of souls and the physical care of the people of Malawi.  Thank you, so much, Eric.  Please download the PDF to see pictures of the clinic.

UKRAINE, LIBERIA, FLOODING

Sunday, May 12, 2019

Dear Friends,

IOWA FLOODING

If you know of a church or an individual who has been impacted by the floods in the Midwest, please contact ORH with information.  It is always a blessing to help those who are in need.  Please send the church or individual name, address, cell, contact, email, and any other information.

MUKACHEVO, UKRAINE VMA CLINIC

Oleg and Lori Enskyy will be conducting another VMA clinic shortly.  They are working with the parents of special needs children.  Pray for these families who have little access to help for special needs children.  There has been a great spiritual impact in the lives of the parents as they receive help from professionals brought to them by the VMA clinic.

I have seen first-hand the encouragement to the parents of the children.  Pray God will use the compassion and love of Christ to encourage these good parents to believe in Christ.

ORH has sent $1000.00 to fund this effort.

LIBERIA

ORH is glad to announce our work in Liberia.  The Lord Shepherd’s Hope Foundation has been formed by pastors and leaders representing approximately 80 Liberian churches.  The foundation head is Pastor Joseph Nunu.  Pastor Nunu and several other Christian men and women have formed the foundation in order to work with ORH in the country of Liberia.

The future joint efforts of ORH and the Lord Shepherd’s Foundation will include assistance to Soul-winning Baptist Clinic, Village Medical Assistant clinics, ORH evangelistic medical clinics, birthing stations, INFUSE training medical training, agriculture efforts, training of pastors, evangelists, and building of churches.

Calvary Baptist Church, Pastor Gordon Dickson, of Findlay, Ohio, has also joined with ORH in this effort.  On May 4th and 5th, 2019, planning meetings were held.  Pastor Dickson, Willard Long, Tim Shank, and Jan Milton met in planning sessions, and conducted two special Church services.  Willard and Tim had just returned from a survey trip to Liberia.

Please put this on your prayer list.  It is the goal of ORH to establish joint efforts in many countries.  Pray we will have the funds necessary to make a deep impact with the Gospel of Christ into the nations.

MALAWI FLOODING

Thursday, April 18, 2019

Dear Friends,

MALAWI FLOODING AND VMA CLINIC

The situation is very bad in Malawi, as reported by missionary Eric Chapman.  ORH will help the churches and people with food and restoration through Eric.  Please read his email excerpt and see the PDF which contains pictures of the dire circumstances.

“The greatest need is in the Lower Shire region.

Our mission has grown in the past 6 years in the Lower Shire to over 90 churches. I was informed today that we may have as many as 1,200 families represented in these churches. I know of many churches that have lost their buildings and whole villages have been moved to higher ground. This means that they lost everything as they fled to safety. Most village houses are made of sun-dried bricks and mud, so they simply dissolve in a flood. I have reports as well of church members being killed when their houses fell on them.

It is also sad that only 2 weeks ago they were looking at a bumper crop this year but now much of those crops were destroyed. This area has suffered the greatest in the past five years. In the midst of this suffering, our preachers and church planters have also started many new churches and thousands have been saved.”

ORH is sending $1000.00 to help.  We are hoping to send another $2000.00.  Please post the pictures and let everyone pray for the devastated churches and people of Malawi.

Malawi VMA Clinic

Please pray for the next VMA clinic which will be held in Malawi.  Many receive Christ as a result of these helpful medical clinics.  It is not unusual for over 400 to attend the clinics.  Eric Chapman sent us this plan for the clinic.

“Clinic Location; Nsunji Lowlands  Dates of Proposed Clinic: April 27, 2019

Number of Potential Patients: 200-400

General description of clinic plan:

This location is near one of our established churches in an open area with a temporary shelter built for our doctors to view patients. Through our network of churches and pastors in the surrounding area, about 8 other churches are involved. Local chiefs and the community at large are invited. Our team arrives by 8:00 am, usually to an already gathered crowd.  After the preaching, the people line up for the doctors: children with mothers, adults, and also eye exams and glasses….”

ORH has sent $800.00 to fund this effort.  Pray for the work by Eric Chapman.

NURSES UGANDA / MEDICAL SUMMIT

Thursday, April 11, 2019

Dear Friends,

Uganda Team, July 13-21, 2019

Thank you for the response about nurses for Albania in May.

In July ORH will be going to Uganda to conduct medical clinics with Missionary Keith Stensaas.  We need at least 8 nurses.  We are having to form two teams because of all the youth that desire to be a part of medical missions.  We have 50 people on the team presently; but sadly, not enough nurses.  We need at 8 more nurses so the teens can go this summer.  Please, send an email to jan@operationrenewedhope.org, if you can help us.  The teens have worked hard to train for this event.

Medical Mission Summit 2019

Thank you for praying for the Medical Mission Summit 2019, March 28-30.  There were thirteen speakers and presenters, ten adult sponsors, twenty-eight college students, and forty-one teens in attendance.  It was a blessing as they engaged true medical missionaries.

At the last service, ten young people came forward to surrender for medical missions should God open the door for them.  Several young people sought information about the Maranatha Baptist University Nursing Program for their future calling.

Bud Steadman, Director of Baptist World Mission, was the featured speaker.  Michael Fiocchi, Buddy Fitzgerald, and Dr. Tom Johnson, Baptist World Mission, represented medical missions on their respective fields. Missionary Jim Childress, Bible Baptist Fellowship, spoke explaining the work of twenty-seven years of medical missions in Panama. Captain Buddy Puryear (RET), nuclear submarine commander, spoke about his new boat ministry in the Caribbean.

Featured medical professionals were Dan Jones, PA; Dr. Harry Gibson, Dentist; Dr. Brian Barber, OD, Christy Holshouser, NP; and Ken Higgins, Optician.  Many others also contributed to the Medical Mission Summit.

ORH thanks Steven Board, Director of Development, and Susan Rasmussen, Director of Nursing.  Maranatha president, Dr. Marty Marriott, and all the staff of MBU were gracious, kind, and true servants to the young people.

FLORENCE AND MICHAEL UPDATE

Monday, April 1, 2019

Dear Friends,

ORH is seeking ministry opportunities in the Mid-west flooding.  Please contact us, if you know someone in need.  If you are in a church desiring to minister to those in need, please contact ORH.   ORH can help.

Pastor Carl Wood of Anchor Baptist Church, Little River, SC, has written to us that Wayne Nixon’s home is finished after the damage from Hurricane Florence.  Ted Weinberg has been a great blessing to the church and the Nixon family.  ORH is thankful that so many supplied donations for this work to be completed.

“Ted and team finished the house February 21st, and Wayne moved back into a home that was better than new.  Thank you so much for your help. Were it not for God using you and ORH, Wayne might still be displaced from his home.”

Pastor Steve Perrine and the people of Victory Baptist Church in Panama City, FL, wrote ORH concerning needed repair work from Hurricane Michael.  Insurance has settled with the Church, but the money will not cover all repairs.  Please read his last communication and pray.

“Bro. Milton, I wanted to give you an update on our church repairs and to ask for your prayers about something. We have this past Friday contracted with a roof company that has done work for our church before to fix our roof and to put our new roof on…. I covet your prayers for this part of the project to be done in a timely manner. I also would appreciate your prayers as the team I mentioned to you before…have decided not to do a spring project so they will not be coming our way in May….  I along with my men are seeking the Lord's wisdom in which steps to take next. Any advice you would have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your financial and prayerful support….  In Christ's Service,  Pastor Steve Perrine.”

If your church could send a team, please contact us.

If you wish to give by credit or debit card, please go to www.operationrenewedhope.org and choose “Network for Good.”  Please designate the gift for your specific purpose using “My preference is” then stipulate your preference.

UPDATE HURRICANE MARIA PUERTO RICO

Tuesday, March 12, 2019

Dear Friends,

The work of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle was placed in grave danger after Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico.  The Church and Day School were left in need of massive repair.  The College was demolished, and eventually bulldozed.

Today, the Church and Day School buildings are operational with much of the restoration complete thanks to many of you who helped.  The College has not been restored due to cost.  Dr. Daniels requested that Operation Renewed Hope send an update about the college.  The work of the college has been and must remain vital to the training of many pastors and missionaries.  This can only happen with the restoration of the dorms on campus.

Please, download the attachments to review the plan that Dr. Daniels has developed to frugally; but permanently, restore the dorms for the students.  ORH asks you to contact Pastor Daniels to ask questions about these plans and needs.

Dear Friend,

We need 10 non-medical workers for our clinic in May to Albania.  Please go to www.orhmission.blogspot.com to read about this clinic.  Please let us know if you can go.  Simply reply to this email.

Oleg and Lori Enskyy sent the message below about the follow-up work that continues after clinics made possible by ORH.  They are working on more clinics for special needs children and their family members.

“Thank you for praying for the follow-up to the ORH (Operation Renewed Hope) medical outreach.  The response has been great.  The outreach has brought us a new member, Maria.  Our church membership is mostly young and middle-aged families, so it is a blessing to have senior believers join us.  Two more ladies have started attending our Friday night Bible study with their children.  We added two additional clinics in October and January for families of special needs children with the financial and prayer support of ORH.  The response has been tremendous giving opportunity for weekly contact with these families for several months now. One of the mothers has been actively attending church services.  Please pray for us as we show mercy and love to our community.  It is opening the doors wide for us to share the Gospel of Christ!”

Dr. John Paul Moses wrote of the work in Kerala, India, during the floods.

“Dear Uncle Jan and Uncle Jim and Dr Daniel Jones,

Greetings to you and the entire ORH and Vision 2020 Asia in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I and my wife Elizabeth, and Titus and our family and the entire mission and the church at Bhadravathi, would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the magnanimous contributions you made sacrificially to help the victims of the Kerala Flood disaster. Our central government had declared it as a calamity of a severe nature, displacing hundreds of thousands of families, women and children the poor etc.

I am sure you have gone through all of the reports we sent ever since we began our intense efforts in reaching the victims with the medical aid and the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ distributing new testaments and enrolling new believers into truth and freedom Bible correspondence course through vision 2020 Asia….

Your contributions for the vehicle, the canopy and the medical supplies and so on, your love and guidance in the Lord are the primary factors which enabled us to move forward.

We love you, I look forward to working faithfully amidst of all our  ups and downs and  challenges, for the cause of Christ and the dedication of and the effort of Bhadravathi Bible Baptist Church and the mission, stands matchless in our heathen area by the Grace of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We love you and are grateful to you for all that you have done in our Lives and the lives of the people of our country India.  Yours faithfully in Christ,  Dr John Paul Moses and Dr Elizabeth Moses, Titus Moses”

Pray that we will stay financially strong to always help in times of need around the world.

HURRICANE MICHAEL CHURCH REBUILD

Dear Friend,

ORH has been silent about the churches in Hurricane Michael because insurance situations were not resolved.  Victory Baptist in Panama City, FL, has received an insurance offer.

Pastor Alan Jenkins of Nehemiah’s Network worked with Victory Baptist in the early days of the hurricane damage.  Along with Nehemiah’s Network, ORH shipped food and supplies.

Although insurance has now made an offer, the amount will fall short of actual costs to rebuild at today’s costs.  The difference could easily exceed $250,000.  Please read Pastor Perrines email to ORH.

Bro. Milton, It was very nice to talk to you on the phone this evening. Thank you for the work that your ministry does, and the help already provided to our ministry as well as other ministries.

It is my goal with the Lord's help and leading to guide Victory Baptist Church through this rebuilding process and continue to minister to this community.  The Lord brought my family to Victory in 2007 and we have a great church family that we love and look forward to seeing what the Lord will do.

We have a ministry called Carpenters for Christ that are hoping to come along side this Ministry in May and help us with our rebuilding efforts…. Thank you for your time and consideration of our church.

In Christ's Service, Pastor Steve Perrines,

Pastor Jenkins has recommended that ORH help this church rebuild.  Please pray for the church and the pastor, as they begin the process.  Through your gifts, ORH will send $15000.00 to help the church.
