BLESSED NEW YEAR REPORT

Monday, December 31, 2018

Dear Friends,

Please read the notes from believers in a restricted-entry nation that ORH materially helps..

MAY THIS BE OUR NEW YEAR’S CHALLENGE.  “AS WE HAVE THEREFORE OPPORTUNITY, LET US DO GOOD UNTO ALL MEN, ESPECIALLY UNTO THEM WHO ARE OF THE HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH.” GAL. 6:10
“Thank you for your concern for the persecuted believers in…. I’ve already emailed you receipts for rice, coats, and blankets and also emailed pictures of these items being distributed. As you know we have to be very careful with any public display of the pictures…. I received word today of three pastors that were arrested…due to their worship of Christmas and the coming of Emmanuel.  They are even now in prison.
Below is a note that I helped a national pastor from there write. Thank you for your help and for the ministry of ORH. You’ve made a difference in a nation that drastically needs the love of Christ by showing that love in material help….  Thank you my brother for your ministry and desire to see Christ and His gospel known. We love you and praise God for you.”

This is the note written from the national pastor about helping the families in need..

“Dear Friends,  Thank you for your financial help for those…of our country….  Because of your aid we were able to buy: 1) 40 bags of rice to feed their families, 2) 40 winter coats to help clothe them, and 3) 40 warm blankets for warmth at night.
There were many who gave praise and thanks to the Lord because of your gift.  Thank you for caring for us.  Your friend and fellow laborer….

ORH has wonderful pictures of the families receiving the food and other items, but we cannot publish them at this time.  They will remain a testament to the proper use of the funds.

Please pray for these believers.  Thank God for these newest members to the ORH
family.  Thank God for your giving.

LEBANON NEW YEAR'S BLESSING

Saturday, December 29, 2018

Dear Friends,

Please read the report from Pastor Karim Dahdah.  He is pastor of Gospel Baptist Church in Zahle, Lebanon.  ORH has sent a total of $3000.00 for winter fuel and supplies for his ministry to the Syrian refuges close to his church.  This a great report with which to start the New Years.

“First , I have to Thank My Lord for everyone of you who donate for the relief of the Syrian Refugees who our Church is dealing with them. This year we have helped around 100 Families, and all of them are attending our Meetings and listening to the word of God. We have helped them with food, diesel fuel in winter time, we have distributed them jackets and fans in Summer. Blankets and Mattresses too. also few Diesel Heaters for the new comers. also, we held them  3 medical clinics, an American Family Dr. and a Lebanese ( Nose ,Ear and Throat), and a week of Dental clinic too.  we distributed very little of  medicines too, because they are very expensive in Lebanon.  We hope and pray that we can distribute them medicines on Monthly bases next year.

Because of such Distributing and medical services, Many Syrians are bringing their relatives and Friends too.  We pray that we can receive more new comers in order to let them hear the Good News, and to distribute for them The Arabic Bible, This year 2018 we got around 15 new Families . The Ladies will join the house groups Bible study with sister Cindy Grover (an American missionary), and the men or families group will attend with me a heavy Discipleship training for 6 months. plus, they all attend our  regular meetings.

Few are coming on a  new prayer meeting in Church on Tuesdays, and all the Syrian Attenders are praying in Jesus Name.  Last Tuesday, we got 2 Arab Visitors from LA, California, when they heard the Syrian Muslim Ladies and men praying and worshipping Our Lord Jesus Christ , they were very blessed and touched too.  we can Thank the Lord for this fruitful year, many has grown in the Lord , and few has accepted the Lord too.  and maybe in this coming spring we may have a baptism for those converted Syrian and for some Lebanese too .Psalms 65 : 11

We do ask you to keep praying for us so our Lord will fulfill all our Needs.  In His Service, Pastor Karim Dahdah”

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM KOSOVO

Saturday, December 22, 2018

Dear Friends

IF YOU WANT A CHRISTMAS BLESSING, PLEASE, READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ABOUT KOSOVO!!

KOSOVO

Please pray for Pastor Sokoli and his wife, Flora in Gjakova, Kosovo.  He sent us this after-action report about the ORH clinic at his church.  He just received this from a missionary couple.  This is a genuine blessing.  We hope to return to Kosovo.

“Hey brother, just wanted to share a testimony from someone who came for a visit while you guys were here.  God is good.

‘Hey, how are you? I have been wanting to send this to you for a while we brought a lad to your medical outreach.  Since birth he has been struggling with chronic bronchitis.  The winters were awful for him. He had to miss months of school, couldn’t run around, vomited from coughing, and wasn’t growing properly. He was treated with endless, totally ineffective antibiotics. His mom is a domestic violence survivor and they are very poor. The family are trying to follow Jesus. It looked like he would never even be able to work a proper job.

At your outreach the doctor asked a few questions, diagnosed asthma, and prescribed some affordable inhalers.  His life has been completely different since then. He no longer has breathing problems at all.  He plays football and basketball.  He is grown faster because his body isn’t using all the energy to breathe. Praise God for transforming this boy’s life through your work.

Today we thanked God together. It is wonderful the way the Lord cared for him. Perhaps you can pass this on to the relevant people in your team and the medical group thanks! Alice’

Alice and Ruben are a missionary couple serving in another city.”

God is good!  He is good all the time!  He is good in every way!  As we worship His Son, – the most overwhelming gift of love – may we remember that this season exists because God is good choosing to love all by giving his Son.  May we give all for Him.

Merry Christmas

CHILDREN'S HOMES IN NEPAL AND INDIA

Thursday, December 20, 2018

Dear Friends,

God is so good to use his people is such a beneficial way for all the world to see.  We may be pressed at times, but we are never defeated.

INDIA AND NEPAL

Please continue to pray for the work of Pastor Athem Chothe and Pastor James Tamang.

Pastor Athem and his wife, Indu, work in Sikkim, India, with a church, schools, and children’s home.  ORH is thankful for this ministry.

Dr. Jan, These are the pictures of the children. Two children are not included as they are in Bible College. Thank you.  Athem and Indu

The needs are great to maintain the young people in the home.  Pray for continued support.

Pastor Tamang and his wife, Holly, are in Katmandu, Nepal, also with a church, school, and children’s home.

“Brother Milton,  Thank you very much for your contact and continual support to our ministry.  We really appreciate it.

These are the pictures of our children enjoying Thanksgiving dinner even though Nepal does not celebrate it, it has been our tradition to give thanks to our Lord for how He has blessed us and invite children who have left the ministry.  It is reunion for children.  We enjoy our time with them and share some memories with them from the past.  God is good and He is good all the time.  Currently we have seventeen children in our ministry and three of our own.  We have a set of house parent, a single missionary lady, and us as staff for the children home.  We are busy meeting their physical as well as spiritual and emotional needs.  Please continue to pray for us.  Through Christ alone, James  & Holly Tamang”

Pray about the Nepal home.  There is a need for property to build a new school and increase the size of the home.  They have many children in need of a place in the children’s home.  Please download the PDF.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND PRAY FOR THESE

Wednesday, December 12, 2018

Dear Friends,

PANAMA

The PDF attachment is about Martita, the lady in Panama, who has a physical complications from a surgery.  She came to our clinic in Panama in Oct 2018.  We are attempting to help her with medical care and improve her living conditions.  Please download the PDF, and pray for her.

HURRICANE FLORENCE

Pastor David Robinette sent the following update to ORH.  Please pray for him and his church in these tough days after Hurricane Florence.  We are thankful for all who have sent money to help.  God bless you, and Merry Christmas.

“Jan,  I just wanted to touch base and keep you updated.  We received a gift of $600.00 from Florence Baptist Temple this week.  They informed us that they heard about us through your ministry.  Thank you again for all you have done and are doing for us.

….  With the insurance settlement (approx. $30,000) and the savings we had set aside for a “rainy day” (literally in this case) we will be able to replace all of the sanctuary roof structure and repair the classroom and office area roof.  That estimate is $43,000.00….  This will leave us around $20,000.00 short of the necessary interior repair and restoration to both the sanctuary and fellowship hall….

God has abundantly blessed in this process.  Our attendance has been very consistent even in the midst of holiday travel and the various illnesses that have been floating around.  We had a couple join several weeks ago and another couple have shown great interest lately.  We are praying for many visitors to our Christmas Banquet this Friday evening.

Again, thank you for all of your help and prayers.  We are addressing the shortage with our bank and are encouraging our people to give sacrificially so that we do not incur any long term debt (we are debt free).  I am certainly not asking for anything from ORH…just keeping you informed. You have already blessed us beyond measure.   Once the process is underway and we have a better estimate on the time frame for ceiling tile replacement I will check back with you concerning potential labor.  To His Glory Alone,  Dave”

If anyone can help this good brother and his church, please contact ORH.

PANAMA BLESSING

Saturday, December 1, 2018

Dear Friends,

PANAMA

In October 2018, ORH conducted a major clinic in the nation of Panama.  Our efforts were based less then 5 minutes from the Costa Rican border, in the town of Caisan where ORH used the local school.  The clinic serviced 800 patients.

The missionary sponsoring the clinic was Jim Childress, the first missionary to ever work with ORH.  Pastor Roderick, a national pastor, is seeking to start a church for the surrounding area.  National personal workers totaling 10 or more gave the gospel to each person, reporting over 300 making professions of faith in Christ.  Two invitations from the evangelized were received to hold church services in local homes.

Jim sent this progress report about the new church and one of the clinic patients.

“In our last email up-date I mentioned our medical clinic towards the end of October.  Here is some follow-up information:

Roderick has done follow-up visitation near the school where we held the clinic with several people receiving Christ as Savior.

Roderick and his team went to a neighboring town where an invitation was given to have services at someone´s home.  They located the person, visited in the area for a couple of hours and held an impromptu service under a shade tree.  34 attended the service.  The lady who gave the invitation saw her father and two other family members saved that day.

Roderick has been working with a family that is facing a crisis on several sides.  The 45 year old woman suffers from a botched surgery that cut some nerves, and she no longer has control of her bladder or bowels.  She lives at an annex of someone else´s shack.  Her roof is a tarp and the living area is without walls.  There is no floor except for uneven dirt.  A couple of children sleep there close to mom.  Mom sleeps on a piece of plywood.   She attended a special service Sunday (in the midst of much pain) and found salvation, along with several family members.

Roderick is seeing what can be done as to a few upgrades to the family´s living area.  I gave him $100 to buy some materials and some people from his church will provide the labor.   With the help of one of our Panama doctors, the lady has had two medical consultations that are over an hour away.  Roderick has worked to find transportation and dealt with the cost.  The lady can not travel on public transportation for several reasons.  Her next appointment is December 4 and Roderick will need resources for that effort.  His compassion for the people is evident and his sacrificial efforts are a confirmation.

Roderick has a second invitation to hold services in a different location and that will happen soon.  There are start-up needs for these new church plants and he is very limited with his funds.

Please pray for Rodrick and his family as their limited budget restricts their efforts.   We are working on getting him an older vehicle, but he will need funds to keep it running.  These efforts are an hour away from where he lives (and has a church at his house).  The cost of bus fare is $4.00 per person to travel during a given activity, which translated into $16.00 per trip if only his family participates.  Fishing and feeding, Jim”
