Operation Renewed Hope – Albania

Friday, June 15, 2018

Dear Friends,

It is always great to work with good people.  Michael and Jennifer Fiocchi of Baptist World Missions are two of the best.  Mike and his wife work in Albania and just spear-headed a major medical clinic into Kosovo with ORH.

Mike lead ORH to conduct a clinic in Laknas, Albania, where he founded a church.  He wrote me the following about a need in the church where the clinic was conducted.

“Hey Brother Jan thank you for coming to the Balkan states again.  Yesterday we had a challenging time in our service. Our church needs a miracle. Flora's double hip replacement might be what God will use to strengthen the faith of our young Laknas’ people. It is to be a testimony for years to come and as long as there are people the first of many to come!”

“Jan I hope that you are doing well. At church, we saw you tonight in the tv video. I challenged our young people to learn English and to have Jesus in their heart.  We started our first Wednesday night offering totally for Flora's operation. We will do this until she actually has it. Tonight's total was a little less than $15. I hope this encourages you. God bless!”

The follow-up to the Laknas’ clinic produced the following communication from Mike.  This communication is about 1 year old but nice to remember.

“Hey, had a great visit today with an old man that came to the clinic. We went through the plan of salvation. He started reading the verses with me. That's unbelievable. He had 3 years of school under communism.
Anyway, the doctor that saw him told him to be careful because he is headed for a stroke. Sure enough, he had a stroke.  Now, he walks with a cane.
After we went through the verses, he really seemed to understand. Then I asked him if he went to the preaching after seeing the doctor. He did, and he said that is where he prayed to receive Jesus! Unbelievable visit.”

Why the reminder?  God works in the hearts of people through good works.  ORH touches their hearts with good works; and then, we reach their souls with the Gospel of Christ.  Flora’s hip surgery is a good work and will cost $10,000.00.  ORH does not have that amount to send, but desires to help this good lady who has received Christ and has been faithful to the church there in Laknas.  If you can help her, ORH will send the money you give for this great need to the church for her.  Please pray for the church, Mike, and Flora.

PUERTO RICO, INDIA, ETHIOPIA

Thursday, May 24, 2018

Dear Friends,

Puerto Rico

Again, Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, Carolina, PR, still has great need.  Download the PDF to see the situation.  The following is an excerpt from his most recent letter to ORH.  It is very revealing about the work of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle.

“The people God has sent have stayed and worked.  If it closes, 45 people who have given between 15 through 30 years of their lives to this ministry will be without jobs. About 15 of these staff members were saved here, some went to College here and are now serving within the ministry.

Twenty two years ago I accepted the responsibility to trust God to train nationals.  Brother Jan, you will understand this 100%.  Most of our students come from third world countries with no income or way to pay their bills.  Our responsibility is to train them and send them back to their countries.  It costs us $200,000.00 a year x 20 years which means we have invested $4,000,000.00.  Our church has sustained this cost up to now.  We have now graduated over 120 students from 22 different countries like Africa, South America, Micronesia and even Europe and 70% of the islands here in the Caribbean.  We are also sending them back and we support them to start churches, children’s homes, Bible Institutes.  We send out $6,000 a month to support these graduates.”

In the letter, Dr. Daniels surrendered to the will of God concerning the storm that destroyed the entire college and damaged much of his buildings.  Even with the damage, he and his church have continued to labor since the storm in less than adequate conditions.  Pray that the ministry will not lose the use of their buildings limiting the work with the young men and women coming to the college and Christian school.

If you can help with cost of restoration materials, please, do so.  Send all donations to Macedonia World Baptist Missions for Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, Dr. Johnny Daniels.

India – VMA Clinic India, Dr. Luther Chatla

“Dr. Jan and brother Daniel, Finally, we conducted the medical camp on 11th, bill boards (flex boards) were placed in villages, pamphlets were distributed and carried audio publicity in villages. Four specialists attended, my wife Dr. Ratna Luther (Gynecologist), Dr. John Babu (Orthopedic), Dr. Prabhudas (ophthalmologist) and Dr. Sivaram (ENT)). It was a day long camp from morning nine to evening four, patients came from surrounding villages all through. 129 patients were treated, (51 general and others, 13 gynec, 28 opthal, 21 ortho, 16 ENT and were provided medicine. Gospel tracts were also distributed.

We postponed the camp two times as we wanted to have full permissions.

This was the first camp from our clinic, we had good response from the patients attended. We are hoping to see three hundred plus in the next camp as many people are calling and asking the details. Thank you for your patience Dr. Jan, and bro Daniel. We are looking forward to your partnership to make it more effective and assure you to hold the second camp on 29th June if ORH provides and permits.

We thank God for the state permissions we received for hospital and pharmacy. Here I enclosed the documents and pictures for your understanding.  In His service, Pas Luther Chatla, MD, New LIfe Hospital (Poly Clinic).

We are so happy to have our second national medical team in India.  The team works in the state of Andhra Pradesh.  The Chatla’s are good people who labor tirelessly for the province of Andhra Pradesh with medicine, relief efforts, the Gospel, and church planting efforts.

Ethiopia

ORH had a medical team formed for Ethiopia when upheaval in the country made it unwise to continue with the efforts.  Pray about a meeting scheduled on September 17, 2018, which could restart our efforts in Ethiopia.  This is a message we received from the missionaries, Nader and Tigist Baraty .

“Good Morning Brother Jan, Tigist and I trust that this message finds you and your family well today. I’m reaching out to you to see if we can confirm a meeting on September 17,2018. I will be driving from Atlanta Georgia on that day so we could get together for lunch or dinner. Please let me know if this time will work for you! With His Love, Nader& Tigist Baraty, Missionaries in Ethiopia since 2015 International Mission Director with EABM www.outreacheastafrica.com 2510943043007-Ethiopia 4196511336-US”

Pray this meeting leads to the open door to an age-old country steeped in religion.

Puerto Rico, India, 2018 Boot Camp

Thursday, May 24, 2018

Dear Friends,

Puerto Rico

Again, Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, Carolina, PR, still has great need.  ORH received permission from Dr. Johnny Daniels to write the following from his ministry.

“The volunteer labor has repaired the roof of the church.  Ted Weinberg has arrived with 12 other workers to begin restoring the educational building.  Through your giving and that of ORH $20,000.00 has been donated to help with the restoration.  The church needs at least $25,000.00 to buy restoration materials.  Without the volunteer help the restoration funds would not have stretched as far as they have.”

Through your help ORH provided $5500.00 to Ted Weinberg for his expenses for two months while helping Calvary.  He is a very dedicated and skilled worker for Christ.  ORH hopes to help him one more month with $3000.00.  If you can help ORH with this amount, please donate directly to ORH.

If you can help with cost of restoration materials, please, do so.  Send all donations to Macedonia World Baptist Missions for Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, Dr. Johnny Daniels.

India – Dr. John Paul Moses

It has been a privilege to help Dr. Moses continue his evangelistic medical ministry in India.  As part of this help, Dr.  John Paul needed a vehicle.  The vehicle he had was no longer dependable.  ORH was able to send $5000.00 toward the purchase of a new vehicle.  This vehicle will make he and his dedicated family more productive in the ministry.  See the PDF for pictures of the vehicles dedication at their church compound.

ORH Boot Camp

The 2018 Boot Camp will be June 6.  Please pray for the teens that will be training to accompany ORH on a medical team.  The boot camp is very primitive and fast paced.  If a young person successfully completes the camp, they receive dog tags qualifying them to be team members and part of the world-wide ORH family.

Three churches are represented in the teens.  Pray that all will complete the camp successfully.

Urgent Appeal Puerto Rico, Dr. Johnny Daniels

Above is The College Building Destruction

Dear Friends,

ORH received this from Dr. Johnny Daniels, Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, Carolina, Puerto Rico.  The church and educational buildings were badly damaged in Hurricane Maria.  The Bible college was so badly damaged, that it had to be demolished and removed.  Dr. Daniels wrote the following.

“Dear Brother Jan:  We know that God has used you to help this ministry survive.  As per our recent conversation, I am sending you a draft description of the ministry needs and how the bank is working with us at this time.  Feel free to add or delete as you deem correct.

The bank is not able to totally forgive the loan; however, they have made a commitment to reconstruct our loan so that we can remain open.  Therefore, all of the reconstruction of the buildings is on our expense.  We estimate that the amount needed to maintain the college open and buy materials to repair the day school and church buildings is $100,000.00.  The cost of the materials needed for the roof is going to be about $35,000.00.

We are also attaching 2 video presentations which you may use as you deem proper.  Thank you for all you do.”

The church has maintained the Christian school and college schedule even during this very difficult time.  Operation Renewed Hope is going to help this need.  Please do not send money to ORH for this very important need.

If you would help Calvary Baptist Tabernacle restore their ministry buildings, please, send a donation to Calvary Baptist Tabernacle.  This can be given through Macedonia World Baptist Missions.

Please make a check payable to Macedonia World Baptist Missions.  Please send check to Macedonia World Baptist Missions, P.O. Box 519, Braselton, GA 30517.  Designate the check as continuous support or a one-time gift.  List the Project for support as Calvary Baptist Tabernacle Restoration, Dr. Johnny Daniels.  A tax-deductible receipt will be returned to you by Macedonia.

Calvary Baptist Tabernacle needs at least 100 churches to send $1000.00 each to help them recover from Hurricane Maria.

Contact the business director of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, Edgar Hernandez, directly at 787-407-8023 for any financial questions about Calvary Baptist Tabernacle.

India and Harvey

Sunday, November 19, 2017

Dear Friends,

INDIA

ORH thanks God that brothers and sisters around the world share the same heart for ministry.  They minister the mercy of God both physically and spiritually.  Dr. John Paul Moses and his team of workers in Bangalore, India, are partners demonstrating that our God is Love.  Please read the following from Dr. John Paul and see the PDF.

“Dear Uncle Jan and Dr Daniel's, Greetings to you all in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We have returned safely back to Bangalore from a fruitful evangelistic medical Ministry. Please find the PDF attached to this email, which contains pictures and descriptions of what the Lord did in Hubli Prison and Hubli Gadag Lepers Colony.

We held these clinics for two days in Hubli Prison and thereafter moved onto Hubli Gadag Lepers Colony to provide medical and Gospel aid.

Thank God for ORH and the sacrifice and the provision that was made possible to conduct these clinics. I pray, appeal and plead that God will continue to sustain this medical ministry.

We were able to minister in Hubli Prison, took care of 186 inmates, most of them under trials for murders, gang violence, dacoity, theft and robbery. Open air evangelism was possible and personal evangelism done genuinely.  Bibles were distributed, Thank God for the transformation of lives with the physical and spiritual help rendered. 6 people in the prison made decisions for Christ and 8 of them in the leper’s colony.  I am so thankful for the Lord for my beloved wife, parents, my siblings, and family and the entire team, volunteers, for their support.

We are fully committed for the cause of Christ in our heathen country. God is doing great wonders and miracles through works which otherwise are impossible to accomplish. May God bless each one of you name by name and bless your hearts for your love and compassion for the people of India.  We love you, Yours faithfully in Christ, Dr John Paul Moses

Ps: Elizabeth, Mom and Dad and Titus send best wishes and thankfulness unto you all.”

Thank God that He continues to offer ORH opportunities to demonstrate his mercy, love, and grace.  The money necessary to do this VMA Clinic, $1850.00, came from those who support our efforts around the world.  Thank you and may our God bless you for thinking of ORH and its partners.

HARVEY

On November 11th, Pastor Will Cover and Arise Baptist Church conducted a celebration service “Hope after Harvey.”  Pastor Will brought pastors and members of churches which were damaged during Hurricane Harvey.  Testimonies, music, and rejoicing in the Lord were enjoyed.  After the event, a Texas barbeque was provided by Pastor Will’s church for all.  ORH was thankful to be included in this service, and for the expressions of thanks by those giving testimony of God’s use of ORH in their lives and churches.

Thank God for Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Indianapolis Indiana, which following the praise service, sent a team to plan a work team’s arrival from their church with Pastor Cover.  The team will help families and churches still trying to climb out of the disaster.  Colonial Hills has long been a great partner with ORH.

Val Verde Baptist Church in Groves, TX, has been sent $8000.00 to help a teacher in their church school replace her automobile which was destroyed in the Hurricane.  ORH is thankful for God’s servants who in spite of great difficulty continue to be a vital part of their church ministry.  For Pastor Nick Dignan and his people who have long been faithful, ORH desires the blessings of God.

Dear Friends,

Puerto Rico - Bill Pfaunmiller

ORH is always thankful for those selfless people who help the hurting.   Brother Bill Pfaunmiller is one of those people.  His work in the early days of Maria was exactly what was needed to get disaster relief to people.  He is now continuing to send reports.

One pastor he helped was Pastor Velasquez in Cidra, PR.  In the PDF, Bill sent a pictorial report about the work with the pastor and his church.  It was through your gifts of love that the work was accomplished.  Please pray for the many who remain in need.

Rejoice in Uganda

Monday, March 26, 2018

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your help and support with the work of medical missions around the world.

In October of 2017, ORH conducted a medical clinic in Uganda with Keith and Sally Stensaas.  One of the clinics was held in a town on the border of Tanzania, Mutukula.  It was a great blessing and many accepted Christ.

To follow up the new converts Brother Sebyoto, church planter, needed transportation.  Through your gracious giving ORH was able to buy a motorcycle for brother Sebyoto.  Keith Stensaas sent a message about the work and God’s rich blessing.

“Brother Jan,  I just returned yesterday from Mutukula, the place where we had our last clinic.  We saw two saved and three baptized!!  ORH recently bought a motorcycle for Brother Sebyoto.  I can assure you that he is using it to further the Kingdom of God.  God is greatly blessing down there and the church is growing.  He would not be able to do what he is doing without the help of that motorcycle.  Once again, he sends his thanks and appreciation.  I have attached a picture of the people that were in the church service yesterday.  God bless.  Praying for you!!  Keith”

This is the joy of all that ORH does.  ORH rejoices to help people with their medical care needs, physical needs,  experience people responding to the Gospel; and then, seeing the churches grow with the ministry of God’s faithful servants after the clinics.  Pray for Keith and Brother Sebyoto that God will prosper their steps.  Also, pray that ORH will be able to keep sending the funds necessary to do the work of God in clinic sites.

Please down load the PDF attached to this report and rejoice at what you see.
