"Sandy" Report Post 28

Sandy Relief

Tuesday March 5, 2013

Dear Friends,

Please pray for this dear brother and his church in the "Sandy" impact area. Please pray today.

"Thank you so much for helping the families of Brother Luis Igesias and Bro Mark Thomas. You and your ministry have been a tremendous blessing to myself and our church family as we continue to recover from hurricane Sandy. I have attached a picture of Luis and myself. This picture was taken about 6 months ago when he was saved and baptized.

I have also attached a picture of Bro Mark Thomas singing a special in church two weeks ago. Thank you again for being such a blessing.

Please pass the word to pray for a very important meeting on March 6. Our architect will be meeting with the NYC Department of Buildings in regards to obtaining our certificate of occupancy. If this meeting does not go in our favor, we could be forced by the city to spend thousands of dollars on unnecessary items (such as an elevator, etc..) Please pray for the Lord's will to be accomplished in this meeting.

This past Sunday, we had 3 first time visitors! 1 of them trusted Christ during the 1:00 pm service, and 1 of them trusted Christ when we followed up with her this past Monday! All three visitors came as a result of the new building.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support of our ministry.

Pastor Ken Baker"

Please pray for Pastor Baker and his church. His church lost their entire meeting place as a result of the hurricane. They had to move to a new building, but the city inspections and occupancy is proving a problem. We support local government, but pray that they will recognize the unusualness of the "Sandy" situation.

God bless,
Jan Milton

"Sandy" Report Post 27

Sandy Relief

Friday March 1, 2013

Dear Friends,

Please read the two reports below from Pastor Baker of Victory Baptist Church in the Bronx.

"A brother trusted Christ last Spring and has been attending our church since then with his wife Janie. He has kept his personal life quiet, but I have recently found out that because of hurricane sandy, he wasn't able to work for 4 weeks. Consequently they have been behind in their bills. He is working now, and just needs some assistance to get caught up on some basic bills as he has been stuck with late fees recently with most of his creditors. I know that $300 would be a huge blessing to this dear couple. On a side note, (since hurricane Sandy) they have invited two of their friends to church and both have trusted Christ! Pastor Ken Baker"

A faithful man in our church. during hurricane sandy checked on a number of people in our church by physically driving to their houses. During the week of renovating the new building, Bro Mark carried countless supplies to the church in his car. Since the grand opening of our new building, he has picked up people every week for church in his car.

Bro Mark's car needs some minor repairs, but the repairs are going to cost $700.00. He used the money he had been saving to fix the brakes, shocks, struts, on replacing some damaged windows from hurricane sandy. The reason I feel so burdened to helping him is because he uses his car for God's glory. I would like to give the first $100, and I am confident that if we had an additional $400, that we could get a mechanic to do the work. Pastor Ken Baker"

With your kind contributions, Operation Renewed Hope has been able to meet both needs of these families in Pastor Baker's church, Victory Baptist in the Bronx.

Please, continue to pray for Pastors Baker, Bickel, Watkins, Recker, Rizzo, and Sager. These men have been so helpful in their communities to help those in need.

God bless,

Jan Milton
