Nepal and Texas Update

Nepal / Texas Update

Friday, May 29, 2015

Dear Friends,

ORH IS STILL SEEKING INFORMATION FOR THE FLOODS IN TEXAS.  ANY PERSON, ORGANIZATION, OR CHURCH THAT YOU KNOW NEEDS HELP, PLEASE, CONTACT ORH IMMEDIATELY WITH INFORMATION.  PASTOR ALAN JENKINS IS SPEAKING WITH TWO CHURCHES ABOUT GOING TO THE HELP OF THE PEOPLE.  PRAY THIS WILL BE A POSSIBILITY.  ORH HAS COMMITTED $1000.00 FOR THE WORK TO BEGIN.

This is the most recent report from Pastor Athem Chothe.  He and his brethren in India have proven to be a wonderful blessing to the people of Nepal.  With their efforts and James Tamang’s approximately 400 shelters will be provided through the local churches in Nepal.  This will help their ministry presence greatly in a creative entry country.  Please read Pastor Athem’s Plan B with its costs.

“Dear uncle Jan & uncle Jim,   The upcoming Plan B1, B2 & B3 will be the last action plans for the Nepal earthquake.  The dates are beginning from 3rd June to 13 June.
Plan B1 is to distribute 250 bundles of iron roofing sheets to 200 houses. The cost Plan B1 is $11526.63.  The Plan B2 is to provide cooking utensils to already identified 250 houses in four villages.  The estimated cost is $ 7258.06.  The Plan B3 is to build Three churches and the estimated cost for the iron sheets for all the three churches is $3774.19.  The total cost of this project is $22558.88
After the Plan B1,B2, B3 are done by 13th of June, we will not be continuing the reconstruction works but we shall be revisiting for the purpose of Gospel preaching. If John Paul is planning on coming in July, I will take him to the villages for health check ups and Gospel preaching.
Three souls are already saved in Nepane Village of Sindhupalchowk. Praise the Lord. Please continue to pray for us as usual and the Lord is providing all these need. With the $7000 coming in from the ORH, the intended budget is met. Thank you so much for all the helps.  In His Service,  Athem & Indu Khiang Chothe”

James Tamang has also sent us a plan with the churches he works with in Nepal.  This is a wonderful blessing to work with The Tamangs and Pastor Athem.

“Dear Brother Jan Milton,  It is always good to hear encouraging words from you.  Thank you for calling.  I was not sure if you have been back or not.   I am glad that you are back.  Thank you for your interest in the lives of people in Nepal.   Here are some option we have:
Believers in our area from our church:  (They have been living in rented rooms in Kathmandu but many buildings are what the government categorized as red flag zone and the landlords have asked them to vacate) and now because of that some are living in a tent.
Details:  Size:  10'x12' strong framed building;  Cost:  about $250 per shelter;  Numbers:  for now 6-7 buildings(shelter); Total Cost:  $1750 for shelters and $500 for renting land, few rest room facilities, and well.   Pictures are attached of two options somewhere under $100 per shelter excluding transportation cost to take it to the needed villages.
Relief for villagers
Option 1:  Cost: about $100 per shelter; Numbers:  60-70 families; Area coverage:  about 10'x28' rectangle shaped.  Some wood, bamboo, can be used;  Total cost:  $7000
Option 2:  Cost: about $100 per shelter; Numbers: we have already ordered 20 need another about 50;  Area coverage: 10'x12';  Total cost:  $7000
We have already ordered 20 set of semi shelter and is allocated already when it is ready for us to pick them up.  It cost us $2000 without transportation.   However we will use Option 1 for our ministry use because we will have to transport only the metal sheet roofs and tools to fix and we do not have to bend and pipes prior to taking the shelter set to the village.  Villagers can also work whereas Option 1 less of the villager's involvement is seen.”

ORH has just sent $5000.00 to help James Tamang with his plans to build shelters, and $7000.00 to sponsor Pastor Athem’s Plan B.  We are hoping that we will be able to do more.  We are thankful that people who are usually unaware of the gospel are seeing and hearing it through the efforts of these good people.  Please pray for their strength and safety.

I want to thank all those who have given to the Nepal Relief ministry.  Pastor Larry Gilaspy of Fairbanks Missionary Baptist Church, ORH wishes to thank you for your contribution.  Pastor Wright of Emmanuel Independent Baptist Church, Winchester, VA and Anchor Baptist Church, Pastor Carl Wood, Little River, SC, ORH thanks you so much for your generosity.

AGAIN, ORH IS SEEKING HELP IN TEXAS.  ANYONE HAVING CONTACT WITH PEOPLE IN THE FLOOD ZONE OR IN NEED AS A RESULT OF THE FLOOD, PLEASE, CONTACT ORH IMMEDIATELY.

God bless,

Jan Milton

Nepal Update Nepane Village Housing

Saturday, May 15, 2015

Dear Friends,

Pastor Athem and his crew of Indian brothers in Christ sent this report.

“We arrived at the Sanusirubari, Nepane village on 10th May and almost immediately we started the constructions. We constructed just one house that day and heavy rain came to discourage us. But the Lord is good and some of our friends stayed back while some of us returned to Kathmandu for further preparations and collection of materials. We distributed 10 pieces of iron sheets to 125 houses in this village. They were covering their houses with the sheets with many holes. When the rain came, some of our friends witness that the roofs of the old sheets were leaking. By next day, the villagers collected the sheets and cover their own bamboo houses. We could not help them all but they were already ready before we arrive. Therefore, the construction went really very fast. However, we built five houses in two days. One of them was for the future pastor of the area.
The villagers were very appreciative and some of them are now saying that they are going to come to the church there. The house church itself was totally destroyed and we reconstructed the house and we hold two nights there. Due to network problem, I could not send more pictures. Please try to download some from the FB of our friends. From tomorrow we are starting the eight families of Iswor members at Bhaktapur. We need at least $3131.16 for the Bhaktapur 8 families. Besides, two more pastors and the church members are in need of helps due to fresh earthquake yesterday.
A man by the name Harman Tamang is the future leader/Pastor of the Nepane village. I offered him to come for the BSE which is starting on 15th May at Siliguri. He agreed to do so and I am taking him with me to Siliguri. We constructed a house for his wife and children in a very safe place.I will try to send you more pictures as the internet is getting little bit faster now.
I have many stories and testimonies to share. I will do so little by little with the pictures.
Thank you.  Athem & Indu Khiang Chothe”

Pastor Athem left Nepal for home about 20 hours ago.  I received a phone call when he stopped on his journey to rest.  Continue to pray for him; he needs rest.

ORH will be conducting an evangelistic medical clinic in Uganda with missionary Keith Stensaas.  Pray we will be successful in reaching the lost of Uganda.  Pray for the safety of the medical team.

The houses constructed are going to be a help to the churches and community families.  The message of Christ is being adorned beautifully by the hands of our brother’s good works.

God bless,

Jan Milton

Nepal Update

Wednesday, May 13, 2015

Dear Friends.

The shelter building continues even though there has been more earthquake activity.  Pastor Athem and his team with Jason Woon were working when the second major quake hit.  James Tamang and his people are also busy building shelters.

The monsoon season is approaching quickly.  We must get these people in a shelter, if possible.  Our missionaries are working hard to make this happen.  Please pray for them as they labor.

James Tamang wrote us the following last night.

“Brother Milton, Again you amazed me by calling me not long after the earthquake and asking me if we were doing well.  Thank you very much for your care and keeping up with the missionaries here in Nepal.  Brother Woon lives within 1 mile of our home.  We are good friends.  I knew he was helping to build homes. Glad to hear that Doctors have arrived.  I understand they will be here for two weeks.
….We also distributed 20 bags of food and few bags of cloths and couple bags of blanket. Thank you for your prayer and support.
Near future we will be going to a village and help build a tin roof house for a family.  We have already bought the materials and it is on its way to destination.  It is the matter of being there and helping them to build.  Please do pray so we can help build this shelter for them soon. JT”

Please continue to pray for the people of Nepal.  Much is left to do by our missionaries as they help the people in the communities around the churches.  The spiritual openings both now and in the future will be great, if we can maintain this work.

We thank God for prayer answered concerning a medical team out of India.  I received this from Dr. John Paul Moses.

“Uncle Jan, looks like God just answered my prayer.. One of my class mates who is experienced in conducting normal deliveries has come forward.. He is a doctor.. Tomorrow he will be applying for a permission.. Pray that they would let him come.. Since the airport is shut down, we may have to travel by road.. Please pray that we will be able to arrange for a vehicle.. Will keep u updated.. Love you uncle Jan.. Am amazed how God is putting people together.. John”

God is answering the prayers of faithful Indian Christians dedicated to the spread of the Gospel.  Their medial work will have great opportunity for the Gospel.

We want to thank you Byrch Griffin, L.C. Klopfenstein, and Claralee Anderson.   Lighthouse Baptist in Slidell, thank you.  This church was damaged in Hurricane, “Katrina.”  Denny Wiinborn is the pastor and a faithful supporter of ORH.   Grace Baptist of Landrum, SC also gave.  Maranatha Baptist of Grayslake, IL has always stepped up to help ORH when working with disaster relief.

Please pray!

God bless,

Jan Milton

Announcing Philippine Medical Team and Nepal Update

Tuesday May 12, 2015

Dear Friends,

Philippines 2015 Medical Team

ORH is announcing a follow up team to Hurricane “Yolanda” area in the Philippines.  We will be working with many people through Dan and Edna Cadavos.  We need a team of at least 50 people for this clinic due to the potential of 2000 to 3000 patients.  Please go to www.orhnews.blogspot.com to read about this trip in 2015.  We need as many people as possible so people may hear about Christ.  We need both medial and non-medical people.

Nepal – 7.3 Earthquake Today

We have just received further information about the early morning earthquake in Nepal and our present team’s safety.  There has been a change to the original plan of bamboo construction because of a shortage of bamboo poles.  Pastor Athem adjusted the plan in the following way.

“Our first plan A is to supply roofing iron sheets for 133 households. There are 18 Christian families.”

Pastor Athem is with Jason Woon and wrote the following:

“Since at 7:00 a.m. today we are spending construction of the Plan A while the 7.4 magnitude earthquake took place very near to our working area.  By the grace of God we are saved and in a safe place.  We are still constructing the last house right now. We are then done with the 125 houses. Please pray for our safety. Many people died today.  Athem”

Continue to pray for God’s blessing.

Medical Team to Nepal:  Pray that Dr. John Paul will be able to raise a medical team for Nepal.  In order to meet the standards of the UN and Nepalese Health System, the team must have a mid-wife or obstetrician (OBGYN), must stay for at least 3 weeks, and must be self-contained.  We are searching in India now.

This is a worthy work to reach so many families with compassion and the gospel of Christ.  Of the 125 homes to be finished today, 107 families will be Nepalese families that profess nothing about Christ.  What an open door.  Stop now and pray.

Nepal and Western U.S.

Tuesday May 12, 2015

Dear Friends,

Nepal

This morning another serious earthquake struck Nepal.  One of our sponsored teams composed of our Indian brothers led by Pastor Athem Chothe was in this quake.  He reported four are dead where they are with Jason Woon.  Please pray for their safety as they seek to help the church people and communities.  Pray for their ministry with the message of Christ.  This is essential.

I called James Tamang and he said they were safe.  James and his wife, Holly, take care of children in their ministry, House of Mercy.  The telephone communication was bad even with cell.

Tornado Destruction – Western U.S.

If you know of contacts or anyone who needs help in the Western U.S. tornadoes, please, send us information.  If you know of a church in the area impacted by the tornadoes, also, make ORH aware.

Nepal Update

Friday May 8, 2015

Dear Friends,

Read these reports.  I am overjoyed as I read through these great blessings.  Thank God for what is happening as people’s lives are helped.  There is a definite spreading of the Gospel.  And, Jesus is being exalted before the nations.  This is 2 Tim 3:16-17 being lived in the flesh.

Abigail in Peru Doing Much Better

Dr. Phil Organ wrote to ORH about the work in Peru with Abigail through the missionaries that work with ORH.  Abigail has been and is a sick young lady.  Scott Blackburn discovered her physical needs while attempting to minister to her family with the message of Christ.

“Today Loren and I went to see Abigail and she looks and sounds wonderful.  Her skin is more clear of lesions and there is almost no flaking.  I did a Nikolsky test and it was positive which means that the diagnosis of Pemphigus is probably correct.  Still, her Giardia infestation needs to be dealt with.  We've ordered a thorough stool examination for ova and parasites to rule out parasites in addition to Giardia.  We will see her tomorrow but my guess is that she will be sent home to stay with the Blackburns.
Since pemphigus is a chronic disease she will have to learn to live with it. One thing she can continue to do is have all the dry skin flakes scrubbed  the way we are doing now and apply a dry skin cream and hydrocortisone on a regular basis. If symptoms ever become too severe she will have to be started on oral hydrocortisone.
As for the Giardia once we are sure that the antibiotic medication wasn't aggregating the skin, we can resume oral Flagyl.
I am prayerful that the trip was successful and I leave on Sunday enriched by the experience, and forever enhanced in meeting Loran & Buddy, Scott & Tracy Blackburn and family.  You can rest assure they represent ORH as fine as you could hope and intend.
For the blessing you've passed to me I thank God, your stewards, and you Jan.  – Phil”

Dr. Phil has been a God-send to ORH for this time.  Please pray for the ORH medical team going into Peru in July.  Pray we will reach souls for Jesus as we seek to relieve their physical needs.  We will be working with the Buddy and Loren Fitzgerald.

Nepal – Please pray

Pastor Athem and his team will leave from India today.  They are going to work in two villages destroyed by the earthquake.  They will work with Nepali pastors in the villages to build temporary housing for villagers (133) and distribute relief goods.

“Dear uncle Jan,  Thank you so much for the helps. We have a team and we are making our restoration mission trip on Friday and the works will be started immediately on Saturday afternoon. We hope to complete the Plan A by Wednesday with the help of the villagers themselves for the construction of the bamboo houses. Our people from Manipur and Nagaland are very expert in making such houses. Thank you.  Athem & Indu Khiang Chothe”

James Tamang wrote the following concerning his efforts in Nepal.  James is a pastor and directs “House of Mercy” children’s home which ORH supports monthly.

“Update:  Thank you again for your prayers.  God answered the prayers for protection, truck, and etc.  The distribution of food, clothes, tarps, and tracts went very smoothly.  We are now praying for souls for His kingdom.  We are also praying for wisdom of where to go next.

The story to tell was that sometime while we were distributing a tremor came and had unsettled some rocks and dirt causing a landslide making the road back impassible.  After a little time of waiting for a bulldozer and vehicles backing up, men started to clean the debris from the road.  One vehicle got stuck but after some more clearing it was passable.  We praise the Lord for those we were able to help and are eager to help more.  Let God be praise!  -- Through Christ alone, James  & Holly Tamang”

Jimmy McGaha is a member of Central Baptist Church in Greeneville, TN where Pastor Abbey shepherds God’s flock.  Please read Brother McGaha’s latest message about Nepal.

“Dear Brother Jan,   I am continuing to communicate with Nepali nationals on a daily basis.  The after effects of the earthquake are still being felt intensely.  Food and supplies are still available within the Kathmandu Valley but supplies are not reaching the areas outside the valley in the surrounding villages.
Concerning church reconstruction, most churches do not own their own property, they rent a floor or two of a building depending on the size they need.  The earthquake did structurally damage several buildings that the churches use.  Both Himal Baptist Church and Calvary Bible Baptist Church will need to relocate.  These churches are currently meeting in temporary places such as outside or in national member's homes, which are very small and cannot accommodate everyone.
Yesterday, I spoke with Pastor Bijay Pradhan who traveled to his mother-in-law's village of Hattigauda to build her a temporary bamboo shelter.  Jason Woon is trying to meet with the leadership of the village of Sangla to assist with temporary shelters there.  With monsoon soon approaching (in about a month), it is important that people have adequate shelter that will withstand the rain.  Thank you again for your labor on behalf of the Nepalese people.  Jimmy McGaha”

Here is what we need to pray about.  (1) Safety for the teams as they work with the people.  (2) Freedom with spiritual ministry.  (3) Funds to help villages rebuild where churches have been ministering.  (4)  Funds to help churches rent new buildings and relocate.

If you would like to donate by debit or credit card, please go to www.operationrenewedhope.org and choose “Network for Good.”  Please designate the donation for “International Relief.”

If you would like to donate by check, please send to Operation Renewed Hope, P.O. Box 43242, Fayetteville, NC 28309.  Please, designate the check for “International Relief.”

ORH thanks Pastor David Greear in Raleigh NC where he is church planting for a gift for Nepal.  He has just recently held his first church service.  We also want to thank Don and Sharon Rosine for their kind gift.  Also, for Florida Utility Trailers, Inc. for their gift to the work in Nepal.  Thank you to

God bless,

Jan Milton

Nepal Update – Young boy’s life saved

Wednesday May 6, 2015

Dear Friends,

Below is the plan that has been developed by Pastor Athem and his dedicated group of Indian believers and the report of a young boy’s life that was saved.

We thank God for the Indian Christians with whom we are privileged to work.  Not only have these people sacrificed themselves, but they have given financially out of their need to finance the efforts.  They have raised money to join with the money sent by Vision 2020 Asia and Operation Renewed Hope.

Please read their entire plan.  It is very strong course of action and worthy of investment of relief funds.  It is true to the gospel, the church and relief efforts which will truly help the people.  The monsoon rains are coming.  We must get these people into better situations.

“Nepal’s Earthquake Victims’ Rehabilitations/Strategies

1.      Survey Done by Athem Chothe & Friends

2.      Areas in kilometers: 55 KM to 200 KM from Kathmandu

3.      Two villages are identified for the first action plan of PLAN - A and PLAN – B

4.      People are right now living in common tents/plastic and very temporary.

5.      Living in tents/plastics can cause various problems such as birthing new diseases and environment unhealthy.

6.   PLAN – A:  Details about Sanusirubari

i.                    Name of the village                 :           Sanusirubari

ii.                  Name of ward                                     :           Neopani

iii.                Ward No.                                :           9

iv.                Name of the District               :           Sindhu Palchowk

v.                  Number of houses                   :           125 + 8 houses at Bhaktapur Church (133)

vi.                Number of Christians              :           10 families

vii.              Number of people died           :           8

viii.            Percentage of damaged          :           100%

ix.                Distance from Kathmandu     :           86 km

x.                  Targeted Time                         :           Two weeks

7.      Action PLAN – A

i.                    10 pieces of G.I. Sheets of 3/9 feet to be given to 133 houses for the construction of bamboo houses, so that the families can go back to their own places to avoid several other problems.

ii.                  2 cooking utensils each will be provided to 133 houses for cooking purpose.

iii.                5 steel plates each will be provided to 133 houses for eating food.

8.      Action PLAN – A ESTIMATED COST

i.                    10 pieces of G.I. Sheets          :           $ 55. x 133=7324.00   (need immediately)

ii.                  52 dozens of steel plates         :           $ 682.00                      (need immediately)

iii.                133 bags of rice (25 kg)          :           $ 1853.00                    (need immediately)

iv.                133 bags of potato (40kg each):         $ 1853.00                    (need immediately)

v.                  Travelling and food for the team:       $2000.00                     (10 men for 1 week)

9.      Medical Camps and its costs will be estimated later in few days:

Total funds we need right now for the face ONE/ PLAN – A  $ 13712.00

Prepare by: Athem K. Chothe
04/05/2015”

Please consider these efforts and recognize how frugal they are to help a church work with their village.  In two villages with churches, they are seeking to build temporary bamboo structures that will provide shelter from the coming monsoons.  They want to purchase enough materials to provide 133 structures.

As Pastor Athem and Dr. John Paul were returning from the survey trip an unbelievable thing occurred.  Dr. John Paul wrote this email.
“….Our survey trip has been a blessing through out.. On our way back, we stopped at a small tea stall for a cup of tea, and as we sipped, we heard loud screams coming in from the adjacent store.. We quickly went and looked to see what was happening, and a young boy of about 15 years old had just collapsed.. Wasting no time a quick examination revealed that had a pulse and a very high grade fever.. With his eyes rolled upwards, I could tell he was going into febrile seizures, and probably it would have become non stop.. We didn't have any injectable meds or pills, God gave me the presence of Mind to use ice cold water to cool him down with soaked towels as tepid sponging.. He returned back to sensorium after about 2 minutes  and  and told us his name and thanked.. We were there at the right time and at the right moment to help in whatever way we could.. He was later taken to a clinic which was farther away in a nearby town.. Such is the need for medical aid here and beyond comprehension..  I am heading back to Bangalore tomorrow, shall meet my doctor friends and plan for the trip back into Nepal, most likely in the coming week.. Will be sending you the budget that may be required for the logistics and supplies.. Please be in much prayer and may our God be glorified in everything we do...Love in Christ, JP”
ORH thanks Morningside Baptist Church in Greenville, SC for their gracious gift to the efforts.  Also, we thank First Baptist Church of New Lisbon, WI, for their gracious help.  ORH thanks several who have heard of ORH’s ministry to Nepal through radio on FBN and has called to let us know an offering is coming.  We will continue to thank people as information comes to us.
God bless,
Jan Milton

Nepal Update

Monday May 4, 2015

Dear Friends

This is our latest from Pastor Tamang.  He is a very motivated to reach his people.  He is doing his very best, and ORH is very honored to serve with him.

“Dear Brother Milton,  Sounds like some Dr.'s are here in Nepal.  Good to hear.
I just want to update on relief project that we are doing through people like your's help.  It has been difficult to figure out government's regulation and know what to do and not to do.  But we were able to hand at least 50 homes in the village about 15 km from our home.  People were living in a makes shift homes.  With in that home there were about 20-30 people taking shelter.
Next trip is about 4 hrs of drive from Kathmandu.  Because there are many who are in need there is possible that the vehicle that we will transport relief may be mobbed by villagers in our way to our destination.  Bible tells us to be wise as serpent and harmless as doves. We are taking that measure also.  We are planning to travel during night time so we can reach the village in early dawn and distribute to where there are needs.  Please pray for us.
Asking for permission has been not profitable and it has not been enforced so we are free to distribute but on our own risk.
Our relief for ration(food supplies) will need to end because the resources are depleting in Kathmandu and it is hard to find.  I an for see the inflation of goods in few days because demand is great to send relief to these affected areas by earthquake.  There are many organizations, individuals, foreign aids, and governments are buying goods for Earthquake victims.  Because of these the resources going down.
Now, I am thinking for second phase of relief.  As fund keeps on coming, we would like to start build a temporary shelter for these people so they can stay dry from rain in Monsoon season.  I will have to research about the cost and see the feasibility of making these shelters.    Please do pray with us as we continue to help people here in Nepal and show them the Love of Christ our Lord.
Let them see the Love that God has given to us through us so they can know the True Love give of life.
Thank you for partnering with us in such a times like these.  Hope these pictures speaks a volume of what we are doing through your support.  Through Christ alone, James Tamang”

Please pray for his safety.  The devastated area is getting more and more agitated as time passes.  People without food are dangerous to themselves and others.  James’ plans to provide shelter is very good and ORH has written to tell him of our approval.  We did this in Haiti because of coming bad weather.

Dr. John Paul Moses wrote the following:

“Dear uncle Jan and Jim,  We have reached safely back in India, the city Siliguri to regroup and strategize our plans of how best we could help the people of Nepal, medically, materialistically and most importantly spiritually, and help them construct their homes, their lives on the Foundation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ...!
I am hereby sending you the pictures of the devastation that has taken place.... Most of the houses are reduced to heaps of rubbles' at places where the earthquake has affected the most.. Families have lost their bread earners, children have become orphans, some have lost their spouses and the list can go on..       Some have denied that God exists and have renounced their Gods, and some are looking for answers to their lives and the future.. As we take the Gospel to these people along with the humanitarian relief, may our God be Glorified..
I shall get back to you with our detailed plan and schedule shortly and the budget that may be required for this cause.. Love in Christ,  JP”

Pastor Athem is now making return plans for him, Dr. John Paul, and others from India.  He will be putting these plans in writing to ORH; and if the funds are available we want to finance his efforts.  I am so thankful for these wonderful servants of the Lord.

Pray for Dr. John Paul as he puts together another medical team.  He has people who have contacted expressing interest in accompanying him.

Another group in India has contacted us through Jim Star, Vision 2020 Asia.  Please read the communications below.

“Jim, We are planning to send teams from Naga Fellowship Siliguri along with Relief goods and I read in the news paper that Relief goods are not allowed to send without permissions from Nepal Government. They are stopped at Kakarvita and many relief carrier Tructs are withhold there at the Borders. The police want to send anywhere they want to if there is no specific permission. That is why I wrote to Athem Chothe who is already in Nepal. For NFS, we are entrusting to Naga Missionaries to do the needful and we are getting reply from them. Athem and group has already gone to survey and they will be bringing short term and long term plan. NFS has not decided yet with whom to work. It is only on proposal to work with our Naga Missionaries who are already involved actively because they know the situation much better and they have men powers. For NFS, it will be difficult to send men power.

We are getting very good feed back from Naga Missionaries. We are still emailing, talking by phone, chatting by FB because we want to get involve for both short term and long term. We are going to give training on Disaster management first at Siliguri and those people will go and give Disaster management in different districts and villages and followed by Relief works and long term investment like- housing, providing basics to let them stand by themselves and also if necessary for Educational Institutions if needed and also present the Gospel. To do this work we need Nepal Nationals who are committed to do along with our Naga missionaries already there in place.  Peter Kashun, Leadership Training Centre, Babubasa, Devidenga, Champasari, P.O. Siliguri-734003, West Bengal, India”

Pray about the desperateness of getting supplies into the people.  They are in a serious survival situation at this time.  Pray for these marvelous servants who are giving their time, their money, and their talents to make our efforts here in the United States be successful.

God bless,

Jan Milton

Peru Update - Her name is Abigail

Tuesday May 5, 2015

Dear Friends

ORH would like to remind you to pray for our 16 year old Peruvian girl who is so sick.  Her name is Abigail.  ORH did not publish the name until it was published by others in Peru.

Over the last few weeks, Dr. Organ has communicated with the health professionals of Puerto Maldonado through Buddy and Loren.  Many tests and procedures have been done by the good medical professionals in Puerto Maldonado.  It has been a privilege to work with and consult with these gifted people.

On Sunday Dr. Phil Organ flew to Peru to help Abigail and meet the people he has been consulting.  With the permission of the local hospital administrator Dr. Organ is there helping Abigail and anyone they wish him to consult about.

This message came from Dr. Phil Organ who is now with Buddy and Loren Fitzgerald and Scott Blackburn.

“Saw Abigail and had RNs wash her body.  Looks much better.  Dinner tonight with group from Canada.  Church last night was great.  Did minor surgery on Caleb who was attacked by pit bull.  He was a great patient. His father took pictures.  Did it in the ER of SantaRosa Hospital in Puerto Maldonado.  It's alittle town surrounded by jungle.  Hope to  visit Scott and his family at their home, 10 miles into the jungle.  This is definitely better than Macho Picho.  Can't say thank you for this.”

Dr. Phil we say thank you to you.  May God richly use you to help Abigail, the missionaries dear to our heart, and those who may need you in Puerto Maldonado while you are there.

Scott Blackburn wrote the following praising God for his goodness.

“Dr. Phil from Naples Florida came to visit to care for Abigail he noticed Caleb's dog bite wound and didn't like what he saw. Treatment time. Praise God for the help! — with BuddynLoren Fitzgerald and Caleb Blackburn.”

Please pray for Abigail that God will heal her body.  Pray that God will give Dr. Organ wisdom about how to help Abigail.  Pray for Caleb’s wound because it was infected and in a jungle world that is very bad.

There is a great spirit in Puerto Maldonado as the believers lift up Christ before so many.  ORH is glad that God has made us a part of this opportunity for God to be glorified as stated in Matt. 5:16.

Please download the attachment with pictures.  Please place this where others may see it and glorify our God.

God bless,

Jan Milton

Nepal Update

Sunday May 3, 2015

Dear Friends,

Pastor Athem and Dr. John Paul have been busy.  They are navigating the terrible waters of government requirements and the ministry to the people.  Please read below of their efforts.

“Dear Uncle Jan and Jim,  Much is happening here..We have been good... We have been on our toes ever since we have arrived here in Nepal, Kathmandu..We are in contact with the UN and will be attending a meeting tomorrow as well to gather some information with regards to their requirements more specifically and to gather some Info on the logistics as well.. I have been able to treat many and the number keeps adding on every day.. Me and Pastor Athem, received a call from one of the missionaries here, that a man in a remote village had been badly hurt.. We went with limited supplies and to our surprise there were so many that were affected and no medical aid had reached and we were the first to arrive at that place.. To my thinking I feel there would be no one reaching that place for at least several days or possibly not.. It was so remote. We told them that Love of our Lord and Savior Jesus made us come...!
I am sending few pictures of what we were able to do today. We treated many with first aid and splints for the bone injuries.. Two of the men had their ankle joints severely damaged due to blunt trauma.. We were able to get one man to the local hospital for further treatment as we only had room for one person in our vehicle.. There were others who were following some form of a ritual to pray to their Gods for their relatives who died in the disaster and didn't  want to receive any medical help or me touching them, had to convince so much to get a shoulder sling for one of their men's shoulder joint injury.. I hope him and the other man and also several others who have received first aid would also be able to get to the hospital as early as they could to get specialist's treatment.. I will keep you updated as an when I would be able to access the internet.. I wish we could do more, but when God is in it little is much.. I am glad I could be a part of this humanitarian relief.. Just to mention that on our way back me and pastor Athem, we had a narrow escape from being Buried under a landslide due to an aftershock, it was only Gods grace that we were safe as the rocks fell right after we crossed that point.. Now we have been able to find some shelter at a missionary's house, from where am typing this email..God has been gracious...!  Continue to pray for us..Love in Christ, JP”

Please pray for all those national believers who are in need and at the same time wish to use these moments of open door to work with their people in Nepal.  They face difficulty which you and I will eventually know here in our nation.

Please pray for Jimmy McGaha, business director in Nepal, who supplied names of those who are in need in Nepal.  It was one of his recommended people that Dr. John Paul writes about in his update.  Brother McGaha called to thank ORH for helping, and in his voice clearly the loving sorrow and emotion of love for the people of Nepal was prominent.  Jimmy is back in the US and helping ORH.

Brother McGaha writes the following about Dr. John Paul’s email.

“Dear Brother Jan,  I was just on the phone with Levi Acharya in Nepal.  He told me that he, Jason Woon, and Pastor Bijay Pradhan are en route to a hospital with one of our Bible College student's father who has broken both of his legs.  It took them over four hours by vehicle to reach the village where this man lives.  We are so thankful to the Lord that ORH representatives Dr. John Paul and Pastor Athem are able to travel with them and give this man medication and medical attention during transport to the hospital.  I am not sure how far they will have to travel to reach a hospital.  Please keep them in your prayers….Again, I am thanking the Lord for you and for the work Operation Renewed Hope is doing in Nepal. Jimmy McGaha”

Pray that all these servants that they will be successful as they work for Christ.  Pray for their safety as they help believers and non-believers.

Please download the attachment for pictures.  Please put this up some place too remember to pray.

God bless,
