ORH YSOC BOOT CAMP 2018

Tuesday, June 26, 2018

Dear Friends,

The 2018 ORH YSOC Boot Camp was a great training time.  Three churches were represented in the camp, Friendship Baptist Church, Raleigh, NC; Emmanuel Baptist Church, Mechanicsburg, PA; and Fairfax Baptist Temple, Fairfax Station, VA.

Most of the 2018 graduates will be part of the Ukraine Medical Team in July 2018.  In order to travel with a medical team, teens participate in the boot camp training preparing them to productively participate.

Boot camp training includes physical training, first aid, CPR, survival, water safety, helicopter safety, stitching of wounds, shelter building, camp preparation, latrine sanitation, vital signs instruction, critical thinking challenges, food preparation, search and rescue, dental training, optometry training, and much more.

The Biblical emphasis for the week of training is “Spend and Be Spent.”  The completion of the week is the “Dog Tag Ceremony”.  In this special time. the graduates receive their ORH YSOC Boot Camp “Dog Tags” which represent dying to self and living in Christ.  Download the PDF to see the graduates receive their tags.

Pray for these young people who have worked hard to travel on the Ukraine Medical Team.  Pray for the missionaries in Mukachevo, Ukraine, Oleg and Lori Enskyy, where the Ukraine clinic will be conducted.  Pray for all the young people who attended the camp that they will be used of God in the lives they have chosen to live for Christ.
