Urgent Need in Peru for Young Girl

Wednesday April 22, 2015

Dear Friends,
Urgent Need in Peru for Young Girl

Once again, as with the young woman in Russia, we are being asked by an on-the-field missionary for medical help.  Please read Buddy Fitzgerald’s information below.  He is in Puerto Maldonado, Peru.  Our medical team will be there in July of this year.

Your help in past times has been a true blessing.  If you have any suggestions, please, let us know as soon as possible.  Our missionaries need prayer.  They are facing difficult situations with limited help.

Buddy sends the following,  “This is from some new friends of ours here in Peru. Do you know anyone who could help diagnose this?

Begin forwarded message:

‘Hi Blaine, we have moved a single mom and her 5 children into our home as they need help to get back on their feet. The oldest girl 16 is very ill and currently in our care she is suffering from what appears to be Pemphigus; Dr here diagnosed. We were told by Dr at a clinic here that's what it was and when we looked it up it seems consistent with her symptoms . They gave us a drug called Levozalicer( maybe SPANISH ) levocetirizina .
The condition is quite severe literally her skin is falling off her body , can you provide any other advice based off a pic only unfortunately as to what else we can do for her ? We are scheduled to meet with a dermatologist on Sat as well . We understand that this condition is brought on by malnutrition. She is now eating very well with us and we are giving her some vitamins also and the medicine previously mentioned. We are concerned that the condition has progressed to severe state and we are looking for specialist advice on how to treat it.  Medicine diet etc. thank you maybe you could share this with some of the doctors where you work,  we just want her to be well.
Blessings from Peru!!

But God doesn't call us to be comfortable. He calls us to trust Him so completely that we are unafraid to put ourselves in situations where we will be in trouble if He doesn't come through.’"

I have a picture of the young girl which I can send for further observation.  I am not sending it generally because of its visual impact.  If you are easily offended by visual, please do not ask for this attachment.

Please let us know ASAP, if you have any suggestions.

YAPP Island Typhoon

Operation Renewed Hope is very committed to the help of people impacted by natural disasters.  It is rewarding to take a storm or earthquake which occurs in a marred world and reverse the dire circumstances created.  We want people to know that our God loves all men.

In these efforts we often work with some of the most wonderful people on earth.  Below is a report from such people.  Instead of duplicating efforts, ORH seeks to combine our efforts with the efforts of others.  Dr. Jack Mitchell’s organization, Grace Dental and Medical Missons, and missionary, Paul Zimmer, are an example.  Bryan Bell of Grace Dental and Medical Missions led a team to help Paul Zimmer with the island people.

This is their most recent report.

“We transported and distributed over five tons of food, water, tarps, soap, shirts, hats, and many other necessities to small outer islands with populations ranging from 150 to 800. These essential supplies went a long way to strengthen relationships between missionaries and island communities, and to help people who have suffered great physical and emotional trauma….

Aside from the goods provided, our team of twelve workers labored very hard to help bring order out of the destruction and chaos left by the relentless winds of Super Typhoon Maysak.  We brought eight chainsaws with us to the islands and most of our time was spent clearing roads and homes of fallen trees….

We were often asked or told by islanders, especially the elderly, that the typhoon was God’s punishment for lawlessness and sin on the islands. On Sunday morning, missionary Paul Zimmer was able to speak in the men’s house (to all the men of the islands) on the island of Fadrai.  Paul shared the gospel starting from Luke 13:….

We are thankful for the advances made for the Gospel.  Relief and Recovery efforts will continue over the next months….”

Please continue to pray for these healing efforts for Islands often never remembered in every day experience.  They need help to recover.  They need the gospel.
