Hurricane Harvey

Wednesday, August 30, 2017

Dear Friends,

Please pray for Pastor Cover and his work with the floods in Houston.  He sent us this report.  Pastor Cover and Pastor Jenkins are preparing for the distribution of supplies.  Thank God for Nehemiah’s Netork.

“We are working with three different churches that have been flooded. I have been in contact with all of the pastors. Their biggest need at their churches will be finances to get them repaired. I have given all of them the ORH forms.  We have several folks who have been flooded out that we are going to be able to help as well. We are working to get the list compiled of people that need help. I have pastors helping me with this now.  I am in contact with several churches around town and have a place for the items arriving to go. I am waiting on the address and information for the loading dock but we now have a forklift, operator, and dock all promised to us. We need help organizing trucks, trailers, etc. to coordinate the delivery of supplies to those in need.”

One of the churches in need sent the pictures that are on the PDF.  Will has obtained a loading dock in Houston for our tractor trailer come to Houston so they can unload their food, blankets, and water supplies.

Thank God for Tim Potter’s church, Grace Ministries, in Mentor, OH, for their efforts to help people in the Houston Area.

Thank God for Julie Robinson with Walther Farms who called today.  They are seeking ways to help people in Houston by donating potatoes.  People like Julie are a true God-send.

Thank God for John Rice in Atlanta, GA.  He is helping us to obtain trucking for shipping at the best possible price.

Thank God for Doris Reynolds of First Baptist Church of Elyria, OH.  She called for her pastor about how her church could help ORH help the people in Houston.

Thank God for Pastor Dan Brabson, pastor, Bible Baptist Church, West Chester, PA.  He and his church are waiting to hear from us about future work in Houston.

Thank God for Pastor Travis Smith, Hillsdale Baptist Church, Tampa, FL.  This church and its pastor are always a blessing.  They have asked how they can help.

Thank God for Pastor Steve Rebert, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Winchester, VA.  This dear brother has sent an email saying his church is sending money to help.

Thank God for Pastor Todd Abbey, Fairfax Baptist Temple, Fairfax, VA.  He called and said his church would be taking an offering.

If you know of anyone needing help.  Please let ORH know.

Another blessing is Pastor David Harris of Faith Baptist Church, Palmhurst, TX.  Faith Baptist help ORH with Hurricane Dolly.  Pastor Harris is now in touch with Pastor Cover.  Pastor Harris will buy food and take it to Houston so Pastor Cover can distribute the food.  ORH has committed $5000.00 for food and transportation costs for Pastor Harris to get food to Pastor Cover.

Pray for Pastor David Cripps and his church, Victory Baptist Church, in Baytown, TX.  The attachment shows the flooding they are experiencing.  We are attempting to reach the Pastor to help the church begin the process of restoration.

Thanks to Mike Herbster, head of Southland Christian Camp, Ringgold, LA; ORH is receiving information aboutTri-County Baptist Church, Pastor Rick Shrader, which is facing need of restoration.  Brother Mike is also putting ORH in contact with a team to help with the restoration of homes and churches.

Hurricane Harvey

Saturday, August 26, 2017

Dear Friends,

Hurricane Harvey could prove to be more harmful through flooding than by its massive winds.  Pray for those in the potential flood zones.  Flooding can be as destructive as wind can be.

Pray for Pastor Alan Jenkins as he prepares trucks of food and water to head to the Houston area for the churches in need.  Pastor Jenkins with Nehemiah’s Network once again is willing to help us to prepare aid to those in need.  Through the food and water we will be able to accomplish much with the Gospel.  ORH will provide the costs for delivery of the materials.

We want to thank Pastor William Cover of Arise Baptist Church in Houston, TX for committing his church to be a distribution point and to deliver food, water, and the Gospel.  He also will attempt to organize other pastors to join with him.  ORH has committed up to $2000.00 to help with the purchase of supplies to distribute to the neighborhoods impacted by the flooding and winds.

Please pray that ORH will have the funds to meet the needs and distribute the Gospel.

If you wish to give by credit or debit card, please go to www.operationrenewedhope.org and choose “Network for Good.”  Please designate the gift for your specific purpose using “My preference is” then stipulate your preference.

India VMA Clinic Leper Clinic

Sunday, August 13, 2017

Dear Friends,

Below is a report from Dr. John Paul Moses, a medical professional working with the ORH Village Medical Assistant program in India.  This report is about a clinic he conducted with ORH’s help the weekend of Aug 11,12,13, 2017

Please read the following.

“Dear Uncle Jan and Dr Daniel's, Greetings to you in the Precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through whom we have the remission of sins and the gift of salvation by His Grace......!

I hope and pray that all is well with you and your families. We are returning back from the 'Nalagonda District, AP. Lepers colony' to Hyderabad. We had come here on the Friday to meet with few Christian ministers of the Word, and today through your help, prayers and support were able to conduct an evangelistic medical clinic at the above mentioned lepers colony. As you know that we have been working among the poor, the downtrodden of our country, since few years, we have been able to visit this area before and our last visit to this colony was in 2016.

Our team consisted myself, my brother Titus, our cousin Alwin, A nurse, and our contact in Hyderabad with two volunteers at the lepers colony.

We saw about 55 patients today in the colony, of whom 40 had active disease. There was heavy rainfall and downpour and it was very difficult for us to reach the location on time. But thank God for the journey mercies and a favorable weather later on....! We were able to carry plenty of gauze rolls, cotton rolls, multi vitamins, pain and antacid medicines and some anti biotics, systemic and topical. We were able to dress several wounds of all the patients with active ulcers and disease. Praise God and Amen that eight women recieved the Gospel today.   I shared with them the story of 'Simon the Magician', from Acts Chapter 8, how he saw Phillip witnessing and performing miracles, how he believed in Jesus thereafter, took baptism, but fell behind with a false view of self, salvation, and God the Holy-spirit. Taught them about the Faith and Baptism that doesnt save, and that repentance from one's sins and the believing faith that our Lord Jesus died for our sins on the cross only brings salvation unto Mankind......! Thank God for these souls. Please pray for them.  Yours Faithfully In Christ, Love, Dr. John Paul Moses, and Titus Moses.”

ORH sent $1000.00 for this clinic.  Pray we will have the funds to continue the work with all of our VMA clinics.  Please download the PDF and publish.

If you wish to give by credit or debit card, please go to www.operationrenewedhope.org and choose “Network for Good.”  Please designate the gift for your specific purpose using “My preference is” then stipulate your preference.

Lebanon Syrian Refugees

The work in Lebanon among the Syrian refugees is an ever-increasing effort.  Thank God for the work of Sam Strickland and Pastor Karim Dahdah, Gospel Baptist Church in Zahle, Lebanon.  Please read the report below.

“Dear Bro. Jan,  This is in follow-up to the 19 photos I forwarded you from Pastor Karim, Gospel Baptist Church, Zahle, Lebanon.

Every time I send pictures to you I start to cry when I see the faces of so many of these dear people who I personally know. I want to thank you and ORH for helping these people who have been displaced from their homes in Syria and lost everything.

Many of them have come to know Christ as their Savior and they faithfully attend Gospel Baptist Church.

The man in the 4th picture is a former Sunni Muslim that I led to the Lord a little over a year ago. His brother has threatened to behead him and his mother has disowned him. He used to own a factory that made women's and children's clothing in Syria. He now works a manual job to try to provide for his wife and five children. He faithfully attends the church.  His wife is not yet a believer, but she is beginning to come around.  They have invited me to come to their home for a meal when I am there in August.

The man kneeling in picture number 7 is also a converted Sunni Muslim.  His wife, who is now a believer, and his three daughters faithfully attend the church.  When I first met them, his wife was in process of divorcing him because he was a believer.

The Lord is at work in the Middle East!  Thanks again!  Sincerely, Sam”

Please download the PDF for pictures of the work in Zahle.

ORH has committed another $1000.00 by August 1, 2017 to buy more food vouchers.  By your efforts, these people are seeing the difference between religions armed with weapons and the truth of God’s abundant love to all men.  Help us to keep this going.  Over 1.4 million refugees came out of Syria.  The Church can do its part to give a helping hand and the Gospel.

Cambodia Update / Medical Missions Summit

Monday, July 10, 2017

Dear Friends,

The work of the missionaries who have chosen to do medical missions is a blessing.  Dr. Tom Johnson with Baptist World Missions is one of those missionaries.  ORH attempts to help Dr. Johnson pay for his clinics.  We are thankful to be a part of his work.  Please read the report on his last VMA clinic.

“Dear Daniel:,  We did a small clinic after a great discipleship time where 3 men were saved. Another lady was saved during the clinic. We will be doing two more clinics with the money you sent. We saw only 26 patients last Friday; but we have another clinic scheduled for Friday, July 14th which will be larger, probably seeing 50 patients.

Our last clinic this month will be on July 21st, which we are planning to see about 70 patients.

Thank you for your support! The Lord is using the love and compassion(of Christ) through the medical clinics to reach people's hearts and start churches! See attached photo.  Love,  Dr. Tom”

Please download the attachment to see a picture of his work.  Thank you for helping ORH continue our VMA clinics.

India VMA Clinic June 2017

Wednesday, June 28, 2017

Dear Friends,

Once again our efforts to keep VMA clinics going in different parts of the world brings us to India.  Dr. John Paul Moses writes us about his efforts with his brother Titus who is a minister of the Gospel.  Dr. John Paul writes the following.

“Dear Uncle Jan and Dr Daniel's, Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Just wanted to let you know that we are on our way to the leper’s colony in BIJAPUR.

Please pray for us as we are once again. Traveling through the insurgent’s region infested by 'Naxalites'. My vehicle continues to have problems, pray that it wouldn't break down.

We love you in the LORD. Please Pray for my Mom who fell down and has hurt her wrist. She has a Fracture. Mom, Elizabeth and baby are left behind taking care of each other.

Shall keep you updated about tomorrow. We are excited.  Yours faithfully in Christ, JP and Titus.”

After finishing the clinic day we received this from the two medical missionaries.

“I and Titus had a great day today in Bijapur district. I thank you for helping us to come here with the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

The PDF attached contains pictures of their work in the leper colony.  Please download the PDF for more information about the clinic and the preaching of the Gospel in front of a Hindu Temple.

Pray that the funds necessary to conduct these clinics will be available.  Shortly, we will be adding more places to conduct clinics through our Village Medical Assistants program.
