BLESSED NEW YEAR REPORT

Monday, December 31, 2018

Dear Friends,

Please read the notes from believers in a restricted-entry nation that ORH materially helps..

MAY THIS BE OUR NEW YEAR’S CHALLENGE.  “AS WE HAVE THEREFORE OPPORTUNITY, LET US DO GOOD UNTO ALL MEN, ESPECIALLY UNTO THEM WHO ARE OF THE HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH.” GAL. 6:10
“Thank you for your concern for the persecuted believers in…. I’ve already emailed you receipts for rice, coats, and blankets and also emailed pictures of these items being distributed. As you know we have to be very careful with any public display of the pictures…. I received word today of three pastors that were arrested…due to their worship of Christmas and the coming of Emmanuel.  They are even now in prison.
Below is a note that I helped a national pastor from there write. Thank you for your help and for the ministry of ORH. You’ve made a difference in a nation that drastically needs the love of Christ by showing that love in material help….  Thank you my brother for your ministry and desire to see Christ and His gospel known. We love you and praise God for you.”

This is the note written from the national pastor about helping the families in need..

“Dear Friends,  Thank you for your financial help for those…of our country….  Because of your aid we were able to buy: 1) 40 bags of rice to feed their families, 2) 40 winter coats to help clothe them, and 3) 40 warm blankets for warmth at night.
There were many who gave praise and thanks to the Lord because of your gift.  Thank you for caring for us.  Your friend and fellow laborer….

ORH has wonderful pictures of the families receiving the food and other items, but we cannot publish them at this time.  They will remain a testament to the proper use of the funds.

Please pray for these believers.  Thank God for these newest members to the ORH
family.  Thank God for your giving.

LEBANON NEW YEAR'S BLESSING

Saturday, December 29, 2018

Dear Friends,

Please read the report from Pastor Karim Dahdah.  He is pastor of Gospel Baptist Church in Zahle, Lebanon.  ORH has sent a total of $3000.00 for winter fuel and supplies for his ministry to the Syrian refuges close to his church.  This a great report with which to start the New Years.

“First , I have to Thank My Lord for everyone of you who donate for the relief of the Syrian Refugees who our Church is dealing with them. This year we have helped around 100 Families, and all of them are attending our Meetings and listening to the word of God. We have helped them with food, diesel fuel in winter time, we have distributed them jackets and fans in Summer. Blankets and Mattresses too. also few Diesel Heaters for the new comers. also, we held them  3 medical clinics, an American Family Dr. and a Lebanese ( Nose ,Ear and Throat), and a week of Dental clinic too.  we distributed very little of  medicines too, because they are very expensive in Lebanon.  We hope and pray that we can distribute them medicines on Monthly bases next year.

Because of such Distributing and medical services, Many Syrians are bringing their relatives and Friends too.  We pray that we can receive more new comers in order to let them hear the Good News, and to distribute for them The Arabic Bible, This year 2018 we got around 15 new Families . The Ladies will join the house groups Bible study with sister Cindy Grover (an American missionary), and the men or families group will attend with me a heavy Discipleship training for 6 months. plus, they all attend our  regular meetings.

Few are coming on a  new prayer meeting in Church on Tuesdays, and all the Syrian Attenders are praying in Jesus Name.  Last Tuesday, we got 2 Arab Visitors from LA, California, when they heard the Syrian Muslim Ladies and men praying and worshipping Our Lord Jesus Christ , they were very blessed and touched too.  we can Thank the Lord for this fruitful year, many has grown in the Lord , and few has accepted the Lord too.  and maybe in this coming spring we may have a baptism for those converted Syrian and for some Lebanese too .Psalms 65 : 11

We do ask you to keep praying for us so our Lord will fulfill all our Needs.  In His Service, Pastor Karim Dahdah”

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM KOSOVO

Saturday, December 22, 2018

Dear Friends

IF YOU WANT A CHRISTMAS BLESSING, PLEASE, READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ABOUT KOSOVO!!

KOSOVO

Please pray for Pastor Sokoli and his wife, Flora in Gjakova, Kosovo.  He sent us this after-action report about the ORH clinic at his church.  He just received this from a missionary couple.  This is a genuine blessing.  We hope to return to Kosovo.

“Hey brother, just wanted to share a testimony from someone who came for a visit while you guys were here.  God is good.

‘Hey, how are you? I have been wanting to send this to you for a while we brought a lad to your medical outreach.  Since birth he has been struggling with chronic bronchitis.  The winters were awful for him. He had to miss months of school, couldn’t run around, vomited from coughing, and wasn’t growing properly. He was treated with endless, totally ineffective antibiotics. His mom is a domestic violence survivor and they are very poor. The family are trying to follow Jesus. It looked like he would never even be able to work a proper job.

At your outreach the doctor asked a few questions, diagnosed asthma, and prescribed some affordable inhalers.  His life has been completely different since then. He no longer has breathing problems at all.  He plays football and basketball.  He is grown faster because his body isn’t using all the energy to breathe. Praise God for transforming this boy’s life through your work.

Today we thanked God together. It is wonderful the way the Lord cared for him. Perhaps you can pass this on to the relevant people in your team and the medical group thanks! Alice’

Alice and Ruben are a missionary couple serving in another city.”

God is good!  He is good all the time!  He is good in every way!  As we worship His Son, – the most overwhelming gift of love – may we remember that this season exists because God is good choosing to love all by giving his Son.  May we give all for Him.

Merry Christmas

CHILDREN'S HOMES IN NEPAL AND INDIA

Thursday, December 20, 2018

Dear Friends,

God is so good to use his people is such a beneficial way for all the world to see.  We may be pressed at times, but we are never defeated.

INDIA AND NEPAL

Please continue to pray for the work of Pastor Athem Chothe and Pastor James Tamang.

Pastor Athem and his wife, Indu, work in Sikkim, India, with a church, schools, and children’s home.  ORH is thankful for this ministry.

Dr. Jan, These are the pictures of the children. Two children are not included as they are in Bible College. Thank you.  Athem and Indu

The needs are great to maintain the young people in the home.  Pray for continued support.

Pastor Tamang and his wife, Holly, are in Katmandu, Nepal, also with a church, school, and children’s home.

“Brother Milton,  Thank you very much for your contact and continual support to our ministry.  We really appreciate it.

These are the pictures of our children enjoying Thanksgiving dinner even though Nepal does not celebrate it, it has been our tradition to give thanks to our Lord for how He has blessed us and invite children who have left the ministry.  It is reunion for children.  We enjoy our time with them and share some memories with them from the past.  God is good and He is good all the time.  Currently we have seventeen children in our ministry and three of our own.  We have a set of house parent, a single missionary lady, and us as staff for the children home.  We are busy meeting their physical as well as spiritual and emotional needs.  Please continue to pray for us.  Through Christ alone, James  & Holly Tamang”

Pray about the Nepal home.  There is a need for property to build a new school and increase the size of the home.  They have many children in need of a place in the children’s home.  Please download the PDF.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND PRAY FOR THESE

Wednesday, December 12, 2018

Dear Friends,

PANAMA

The PDF attachment is about Martita, the lady in Panama, who has a physical complications from a surgery.  She came to our clinic in Panama in Oct 2018.  We are attempting to help her with medical care and improve her living conditions.  Please download the PDF, and pray for her.

HURRICANE FLORENCE

Pastor David Robinette sent the following update to ORH.  Please pray for him and his church in these tough days after Hurricane Florence.  We are thankful for all who have sent money to help.  God bless you, and Merry Christmas.

“Jan,  I just wanted to touch base and keep you updated.  We received a gift of $600.00 from Florence Baptist Temple this week.  They informed us that they heard about us through your ministry.  Thank you again for all you have done and are doing for us.

….  With the insurance settlement (approx. $30,000) and the savings we had set aside for a “rainy day” (literally in this case) we will be able to replace all of the sanctuary roof structure and repair the classroom and office area roof.  That estimate is $43,000.00….  This will leave us around $20,000.00 short of the necessary interior repair and restoration to both the sanctuary and fellowship hall….

God has abundantly blessed in this process.  Our attendance has been very consistent even in the midst of holiday travel and the various illnesses that have been floating around.  We had a couple join several weeks ago and another couple have shown great interest lately.  We are praying for many visitors to our Christmas Banquet this Friday evening.

Again, thank you for all of your help and prayers.  We are addressing the shortage with our bank and are encouraging our people to give sacrificially so that we do not incur any long term debt (we are debt free).  I am certainly not asking for anything from ORH…just keeping you informed. You have already blessed us beyond measure.   Once the process is underway and we have a better estimate on the time frame for ceiling tile replacement I will check back with you concerning potential labor.  To His Glory Alone,  Dave”

If anyone can help this good brother and his church, please contact ORH.

If you wish to give by credit or debit card, please go to www.operationrenewedhope.org and choose “Network for Good.”  Please designate the gift for your specific purpose using “My preference is” then stipulate your preference.

PANAMA BLESSING

Saturday, December 1, 2018

Dear Friends,

PANAMA

In October 2018, ORH conducted a major clinic in the nation of Panama.  Our efforts were based less then 5 minutes from the Costa Rican border, in the town of Caisan where ORH used the local school.  The clinic serviced 800 patients.

The missionary sponsoring the clinic was Jim Childress, the first missionary to ever work with ORH.  Pastor Roderick, a national pastor, is seeking to start a church for the surrounding area.  National personal workers totaling 10 or more gave the gospel to each person, reporting over 300 making professions of faith in Christ.  Two invitations from the evangelized were received to hold church services in local homes.

Jim sent this progress report about the new church and one of the clinic patients.

“In our last email up-date I mentioned our medical clinic towards the end of October.  Here is some follow-up information:

Roderick has done follow-up visitation near the school where we held the clinic with several people receiving Christ as Savior.

Roderick and his team went to a neighboring town where an invitation was given to have services at someone´s home.  They located the person, visited in the area for a couple of hours and held an impromptu service under a shade tree.  34 attended the service.  The lady who gave the invitation saw her father and two other family members saved that day.

Roderick has been working with a family that is facing a crisis on several sides.  The 45 year old woman suffers from a botched surgery that cut some nerves, and she no longer has control of her bladder or bowels.  She lives at an annex of someone else´s shack.  Her roof is a tarp and the living area is without walls.  There is no floor except for uneven dirt.  A couple of children sleep there close to mom.  Mom sleeps on a piece of plywood.   She attended a special service Sunday (in the midst of much pain) and found salvation, along with several family members.

Roderick is seeing what can be done as to a few upgrades to the family´s living area.  I gave him $100 to buy some materials and some people from his church will provide the labor.   With the help of one of our Panama doctors, the lady has had two medical consultations that are over an hour away.  Roderick has worked to find transportation and dealt with the cost.  The lady can not travel on public transportation for several reasons.  Her next appointment is December 4 and Roderick will need resources for that effort.  His compassion for the people is evident and his sacrificial efforts are a confirmation.

Roderick has a second invitation to hold services in a different location and that will happen soon.  There are start-up needs for these new church plants and he is very limited with his funds.

Please pray for Rodrick and his family as their limited budget restricts their efforts.   We are working on getting him an older vehicle, but he will need funds to keep it running.  These efforts are an hour away from where he lives (and has a church at his house).  The cost of bus fare is $4.00 per person to travel during a given activity, which translated into $16.00 per trip if only his family participates.  Fishing and feeding, Jim”

UKRAINE BLESSING

Monday, November 26, 2018

Dear Friends,

Ukraine Blessings

Heating and Air

ORH sent $1600.00 to purchase two heating and cooling units for Oleg and Lori Enskyy’s church building.  ORH sought to provide heating during winter months for VMA clinic meetings.  Oleg and Lori sent the following message about the two units ORH purchased.

“Here is the first of our installed heating units!  They work great.  Praise the Lord!”

Download the PDF to see the wall units.

VMA Clinic

Oleg and Lori conducted the first Village Medical Assistant clinic for “Special Needs Children.”  This is a pilot project to bring hope for families experiencing these needs.  There are no such meetings available for the parents around the Enskyy’s ministry area.  Please read the report below and download the PDF.

“Dear Daniel and ORH,  Thank you so very much for helping us hold a VMA adapted to the needs of our community.  We had 15 parents of special needs children in attendance.  We had a guest occupational therapist/psychologist come in from another city.  She herself has a special needs child and the seminar was practical, encouraging and very motivating.  We had a light lunch/coffee break which gave us opportunity to mingle with the people we didn't know.  They gave us great feedback and asked us to do these types of seminars as much as possible.  What we saw from today was that we can do more good and build deeper kingdom relationships by providing a service that is lacking in our community.  Most of the parents who came today have children with MS or birth defects that are in need of physical therapy.  We are going to be praying about what next steps we can take to meet this need…. The Gospel was given, and these families were invited to our church's Thanksgiving service tomorrow.  They are all open to further contact and want to be notified and invited to further events that our church holds.  It was a very encouraging day….  I am attaching pictures and a list of the families that attended today.  Sincerely, Lori Enskaya for Holy Trinity Baptist Church, Mukachevo, Ukraine VMA 24.11.2018”

ORH sent $1000.00 for the VMA “Special Needs Children” Clinic in Mukachevo.  This money will provide at least two clinics.  Please pray that ORH will have the funds to conduct these events once a quarter in the Ukraine.

HURRICANE FLORENCE

Saturday, November 10, 2018

Dear Friends,

Bible Baptist Church, Wilmington, NC

This message just came from Pastor David Robinette, Bible Baptist Church, Wilmington, NC.  Pastor Robinette sent pictures of the people your gifts have helped.

“Jan, We received your donation yesterday and I announced it to the church during prayer meeting last night.  One of our men presented the Bible study from Malachi, emphasizing how Israel was accusing God of not being faithful in spite of His obvious blessings, and in light of their obvious disobedience.   We have seen God work through your ministry, through your obedience, which causes us to rejoice in His blessings.  I will provide some “before and after” photos of the area we will be allocating the funds for.  Thank you again.  Please don’t hesitate to send printed materials so that we may keep your ministry before the church and with the goal of becoming a financial supporter of your ministry once we are back on our feet.  I will send photos of the Foundations Conference (featuring Bill Hill and Mike Faidley) in a separate email.  To God alone be the Glory, Pastor Dave”

There is still much work left to do in these areas.  Please pray for the churches and families that must be helped.

Grace Baptist Church, Goldsboro, NC

This response by the Lynch family of Grace Baptist in Goldsboro came to ORH.

“Dear Mr. Jan Milton,  We would like to thank you for helping us to fix the ductwork under our house that was damaged due to the flood waters from Hurricane Florence. Our Pastor, Jason Stoeber, at Grace Baptist Church in Goldsboro, NC, told us that you donated money to help us repair our house and we are very appreciative and grateful.  I have attached several pictures with this email of the old ductwork that was torn out and then the company who came and did the repairs.  Now we have functioning heating and air again. Thank you again and God bless you!  The Lynch Family (Aaron, Brianna, Cole, and Wyatt)”

Thank God you have made it possible for ORH to help these good people of Grace Baptist.  Please download the PDF.

HURRICANE FLORENCE AND LAOS

Saturday, November 10, 2018

Dear Friends,

HURRICANE FLORENCE

Pastor Gene Tilly, Liberty Baptist Church, Wilmington, NC, wrote the following to ORH.  ORH through your gifts was able to provide Pastor Tilly and his wife $4000.00.  ORH is thankful to be able to have a part.

“I want to thank you for your kind gift to my wife and me. Hurricane Florence did over 20000.00 damage to our home. We were out of the home for nearly 6 weeks due to the damage and the mold. We have been able to have to damaged drywall, insulation and mold removed. Hopefully, with the help of your generous gift we can now begin the roof and drywall reconstruction in our living room, dinning room and bath. We had to completely gut the main bathroom.  Work is being lined up now to do the needed repairs. Your kindness assured us that we would be able to complete the necessary repairs.  Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts.  Pastor Gene and a Wanda Tilly”

Continue to pray for the needs in the Florence and Michael impact area.

Laos Flooding Victims

Missionary Derek Thomas sent word of the need of these Christian brothers and sisters in Laos.  The monsoons have caused great flooding.  Derek sent pictures of rice distributed through our first gift of $3000.00.

“Jan, Below (on PDF) are pictures of rice being distributed in southern Laos from the funds that ORH gave. I’m traveling there late next week.  Thank you for your concern for souls in Laos.  Lord bless.  Derek”

ORH has sent another $2000.00 for the efforts there to reclaim the homes and provide food where needed.  We are thankful for Derek Thomas and his love for the Laotians.

HURRICANE FLORENCE, SAIPAN

Thursday, November 8, 2018

Dear Friends,

HURRICANE FLORENCE

Pastor David Robinette, Bible Baptist Church, in Wilmington, NC wrote the following.  ORH through your giving sent $4700.00 to help his congregation after Hurricane Florence.

“Dear Jan,  Thank you for your unique ministry and for your prayerful consideration in regards to the needs of our church.  We are still assessing the damage through a trusted contractor, and are awaiting Church Mutual’s consideration of their addendum to the scope of work results.  The sanctuary roof replacement far exceeds the current settlement.  We are praying that Church Mutual will agree to the contractor’s estimate.  We proceeded last week with the repair to the roof of the fellowship hall.  Water intrusion in that area damaged the ceilings in the guest house (prophet’s chamber), a utility room, and a bathroom.  We are now making those interior repairs.  Total cost of that project was $4700.00.  We paid that out of pocket, and it will apply toward our $5000.00 deductible.  Your gracious gift will allow us to continue immediately with the interior repairs to that area.  Thank you again for your ministry toward our work.  It has been and will continue to be a blessing to our people.”

Continue to pray for the needs in the Florence impact area.

Saipan

Dr. Christian Wei sent the following report for us to read.  Please download the PDF to see his damage.  Operation Renewed Hope by faith has sent $3000.00 to help the ministry immediately.

“One of the Reporter reported that typhoon Yutu is the strongest typhoon to hit US territory in the US history.  According to the report that Yutu is the Category 5 typhoon, which is the worse typhoon ever in CNMI history, with disastrous winds of 180 mph and gusting to 200 mph.  Yutu caused great damage for the whole island of Saipan and there won’t be power and running water for at least half year. EUCON and her ministries in Saipan face challenge to rebuild but we are trusting the Lord to rebuild it back, brick by brick and book by book.  Thank you for all your prayers, our people are all safe and ready to rebuild.”

SAIPAN, UGANDA, HURRICANE UPDATE

Friday, November 2, 2018

Dear Friends,

Saipan – Dr. Christian Wei

ORH has committed to this good ministry, EUCON University, $3000.00.   The ministry was struck hard by category 5, Typhoon Yutu.  Please download the PDF from Dr. Wei about this devastating typhoon.  Dr. Wei wrote the following.

“Dear Friends:  Many of you have shown your love and concern about the catastrophic damages of typhoon Yutu done.  First of all, by God’s grace, all lives are safe.  We are praising the Lord for that and thanking God for you to pray for our people to go through the terrible night.

Now after a long night of calamitous attack by the winds of Yutu, the scene of Saipan in the morning is horrible.   Please see the attached file for some pictures.  Our school campus were ruined and some of the staff and faculty houses are also destroyed. The facility of Saipan as a whole is torn apart and it will take years to rebuild it back.

However, after the decrease of the winds, our students, staff and faculty started rebuilding our campus and ministries.  Please pray that the Lord will provide materials for us to rebuild many roofs and walls and other damages.

We will update you more about the progress.  Thank you so much for your kindness to pray for us.  God bless.  Humbly in Christ,  Christian Wei”

Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ on the Island of Saipan.

Uganda

We are so thankful for the preparatory work of Keith Stensaas for future evangelistic medical clinics in Uganda.  Our next clinic will be an area where Pastor Fredrick is working.  For him to prepare for the next clinic, Pastor Fredrick needed a motorcycle.  Your gifts made it possible.  Pastor Fredrick wrote the following.

“Jan Milton - Operation Renewed Hope, First and foremost, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude from the bottom of heart for the gift of a new motor cycle you have bought for me to use and reach the lost world with the gospel of hope.

May the almighty God abundantly bless you so much.  I and my wife Sarah, plus the Children we are very thankful and praying for you every day.  Sincerely, Pastor Kasajja Fredrick.  Thank you.”

Download the PDF to see the new motorcycle.  Pray for this good man of God.

Hurricane Florence and Michael

Michael Volmer wrote the following.

“Pastor Cuthbertson from Liberty Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Akansas is coming this next week to Havelock, S.C. to deliver 50,000 John/Romans bibles (KJV) to Pastor Kohr (Freedom Baptist).  If you are interested in receiving any of them, he can be contacted….  For those of you down in Wilmington and S.C.  Please don’t hesitate to ask, we’ll figure out a way to get them to you….”

HURRICANE UPDATE

Saturday, October 27, 2018

Dear Friends,

Hurricane Florence and Michael

Karl and Cathy Steudl from Emmanuel Independent Baptist Church in Winchester, Va, have been very busy in the Hurricane Florence impact area, Grace Baptist, Wilmington, NC, and Anchor Baptist, Little River, SC.  They have a commercial de-humidifier which will dry a home, so the work of restoration may begin.

ORH is very thankful for their efforts and rejoices to pay their expenses to do this work.  The following are two messages from them.

“Good morning Bro. Jan. Karl and I have dried-out two homes so far as well as much dry wall removal.  We just spoke with pastor Karl Wood and will work with him this Thursday and Friday.  The pictures are of the two homes we have worked on so far here in Wilmington, NC.”

“Good morning Bro. Jan. Karl and I are in Little River, SC, drying-out the gentleman's home for Pastor Carl Wood with Anchor Baptist.”

Pray that we can help people rebuild both in Wilmington and Little River.

Mike Volmer sent this message about Conway, SC.

“Grand Strand Baptist Church just west of Myrtle Beach made it through the hurricane and was pretty heavily involved with relief efforts.  Their Pastor pointed me to Wendy Shelley as his point of contact.  They were closing-down their distribution center when I got there Tuesday.  From speaking with her, they were able to lead over 60 people to Christ during this time.  With regards to long term assistance, they had 6 families that were in need of help.  I left Brother Milton’s forms with them and began looking westward past Conway.”

Brother Volmer has been a blessing as he travels finding those in need.  Pray we will have enough funds to help these families that he has found.
