DORIAN AND IMELDA

Friday, September 20, 2019

Dear Friends,

PLEASE DO NOT FORGET THE CHURCHES IN HOUSTON WHO HAVE BEEN DAMAGED BY THE IMELDA.  ORH IS IN CONTACT WITH TWO CHURCHES THERE.

HURRICANE DORIAN

PRAISE THE LORD!!!

“So, once again let me tell you. A heartfelt thank you!”

These words close a very loving thank you from Pastor Bain.  I am sure his expression of thanks represents Pastor Woodside and all who have been helped.

ORH takes joy in sending this special “thank you” to all who have helped in the Dorian effort, Flyn4God, Anchor Baptist Mission, Hearts with Hands, Mission Air Care, Landmark Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Westwood Lakes, Catawba Springs Christian Church, Tri-City Baptist Church, all the pilots, and many more who have contributed to the efforts in Dorian..

The efforts are not over.  ORH has purchased building supplies from Lowes and will ship them to Tabernacle Baptist Church.  Pastor Guy Altizer with Windows of Heaven has now secured two men to help with reconstruction.  Pray that the supplies can be shipped in time for the workers to help rebuild.

Pray we secure pilots with planes to continue our shipping of supplies.  We need twin-engine planes.

Pastor Bain requested 15 kindergarten desks with chairs and 50 kindergarten chairs.  Later, he wrote.

“keyboard…, pulpit..., communion table….”

“We will need about 300 Chairs for church...the chairs and legs are rusted.”

“Good day bro hope you had restful day...can we get 7 teacher desks and 7 teacher chairs”

“Need about 8 air stress mattresses”

Please, contact, if you can help with these items.  You may call ORH at 910-987-5072 or email jan@operationrenewedhope.org.

Pray for others there on Grand Bahamas in need that Tabernacle can help.

HURRICANE DORIAN AND HOUSTON AREA

Friday, September 20, 2019

Dear Friends,

PRAISE THE LORD!!!

This week our pilots were able to fly 30 missions.  A.J. James, Mike Grimes, and Tim Lankford were in the air constantly.  Pastor Sheppard of Tri-City Baptist Church, Port Charlotte, FL, supplied necessary support people to stage and load the planes, so they could turn around quickly.  Please download the PDF for more information.

ORH needs pilots for next week.  Please call 910-987-5072.  An application will be sent immediately to become a part of the Air Hope family.

Dave Spangler, Flyn4God, and Mike Gentile, Anchor Baptist Mission combined efforts to make sure the planes kept flying.  Dave set up a charge account for fuel with the FBO at Sebring which allowed the pilots to fuel and fly.  Dave worked with the airport officials to make sure we had the ability to properly store supplies.  We are thankful for all who participated.

Hearts with Hands and Anchor Baptist combined to move a tractor-trailer of supplies to Sebring.  Hearts with Hands supplied the supplies, and Anchor Baptist Mission supplied a trailer with semi-truck to haul the load.  Their cooperation was the source of materials for our air shipments.

Special orders did not upset the team in Sebring.  During the chaos of moving 1000’s of pounds of relief goods, they were able to find and fly all the special requests.  The pilots even brought back paint chips, so we could fly matching paint for the church walls.  The church is now having Sunday services and with the new painted walls school will start on Monday.

Anchor Baptist Mission has 402 more boxes of food supplies.  They also sent a K-Loader through Lighthouse Baptist Church in Panama City, FL which was struck by Hurricane Michael.

Pray our coalition will have the ability to greatly impact the islands.  Every box distributed from Hearts with Hands had a Gospel of John and Romans.  Gospel tracts were also in the boxes.

Continue to pray for the Mission Air Care pilot whose plane was damaged on landing.  Thank God no one was injured.  Pray very hard we will be successful and fight crews will be safe.

If you know of a person or church in need in the Houston area, please contact ORH at information in letterhead.

If you wish to give by credit or debit card, please go to www.operationrenewedhope.org and choose “Network for Good.”  Please designate the gift for specific purpose using “My preference is” then stipulate your preference.

If you wish to give by check, please send the check to Operation Renewed Hope, P.O. Box 43242, Fayetteville, NC 28309.  Please designate the gift for your specific purpose using “My preference is” then stipulate your preference.

HURRICANE DORIAN

Saturday, September 14, 2019

Dear Friends,

HURRICANE DORIAN

Please, continue to pray for the pilots and planes which fly in our coalition of organizations.  A plane had a mishap last night landing in Sebring, FL, after a very successful mission to Tabernacle Baptist Church in Freeport.  The plane was damaged and will be out of service.  The pilots are safe with no injury.

Hearts with Hands, Dr. Greg Lentz, has prepared another load of relief supplies for our flights.  Anchor Baptist will truck the supplies next week.  Our coalition will have the ability to greatly impact the islands.

Pastor Randy Barton with Anchor Baptist Mission is supplying a skid-steer with forks and a truck with 500 boxes of supplies.  That should arrive soon.

Landmark Baptist Church has delivered 207 boxes of relief goods for Tabernacle Baptist Church, our depot in Freeport.

Pastor Norris Bain, Tabernacle Baptist Church, sent pictures of the planes being unloaded and the distribution of the supplies.  The flights have provided a pressure washer, gallons of paint, and replacement electrical outlets.  The church is going to be restored for Sunday Services.

Our prayers are answered for pilots next week.  We will have 3 planes flying all next week.

ORH is thankful to be a part of this effort with these good organizations.  Pray very hard we will be successful and fight crews will be safe.

Hurricane Dorian

HURRICANE DORIAN

Thursday, September 12, 2019

Dear Friends,

HURRICANE DORIAN

Please pray for the situation in the Bahamas.  Many organizations are joining together to make a relief effort to those who are in need.  Hearts with Hands, Anchor Baptist Mission, Flyn4God, Mission Air Care, Island Outreach, Lockwood Aviation Repair, and Landmark Baptist Church.  Please download the attachment to see the work.

Dave Spangler and Randy Crow left yesterday morning for Abaco.  We have not heard from them, but we are certain they made it.  They are taking SAT phones and supplies to the churches.

Hearts with Hands, Dr. Greg Lentz, has delivered two trucks at this time.  One load is already in the Bahamas.  The second truck went to Sebring where Flyn4God has obtained a permanent hanger storage.  Pray for Hearts with Hands more trucks are needed, but they must now buy the contents for the future trucks

Pastor Randy Barton with Anchor Baptist Mission has placed a man at the Sebring staging site.  This man will coordinate obtaining needed items and helping the flight crews load the planes.  They are also working to purchase supplies locally to load the planes.  Pastor Barton wrote the following.

“Need a box of English Tracts. Do you know of a church near Sebring that might have some?  Pressure washer is about to be loaded on 1st sortie.  Paint will be purchase and loaded on 2nd.”

A church has graciously met the needs of the tracts and will deliver today or tomorrow.

Mission Air Care, Brother Earl Malpass, has made arrangement with the owner of a Beechcraft Baron to fly.  It is in Sebring and should be flying this morning into Freeport.  Pray that the Mission Air Care Piper Chieftain will be ready to fly also.

The MAC flight this morning will contain a pressure washer to clean Pastor Bain’s church, so they can paint for services on Sunday.  The paint will be shipped today by MAC if all goes to plan.

Pray for Assistant Pastor Woodside who will receive and coordinate shipments and begin restoration of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.

ORH is thankful to be a part of this effort with these wonderful organizations and Godly people.  Pray very hard we all will be successful and fight crews will be safe.

HURRICANE DORIAN

Friday, September 6, 2019

Dear Friends,

HURRICANE DORIAN

Please pray for Dave Spangler as he and Randy Crow make the initial flight into Man O War, Abaco, Bahamas. Yesterday, he sent the following to us.

“We will be working through New Life Bible Church and the Gospel Chapel on Man O War Cay Abaco.”

According to Dave, he and Randy will leave from Ft. Pierce, on Friday September 6, and fly to Treasure, Cay on Abaco.  The landing strip there is functional.  They will then fly to a small island where they will obtain helicopter service to Man O War.  They will fact-find, check churches, and return to Florida by Sunday.  The purpose of this trip is to begin initial planning for profitable ministry.

The first days after a storm always come with much anticipation of immediate rescue and help efforts.  Thank God for good people.  However, this eagerness without good information can lead to wasted effort.  Once ORH is certain of appropriate ministry, we will publish this for churches and individuals to support.

Hearts with Hands has loaded their first shipment of food boxes to be taken to the Ft. Pierce warehouse area obtained by Dave Spangler, Flyn4God, through Missionary Flights International.  Thank God for these organizations.

Thank God for our friends at Mission Air Care, Brother Earl Malpass.  He has offered to help with his air ministry, and ORH hopes to take advantage of his offer very soon.

Thank God for Pastor Altizer who is now working on the flooding in Charleston, SC.  If you know of anyone in need, please, let us know.

ORH thanks the following ministries for joining in ministry – Calvary Baptist Church, Pastor John Boutchia; Gospel Baptist Church, Pastor Bill Lytell; Catawba Springs Christian Church, Pastor Chuck Woodruff.

If you wish to give by credit or debit card, please go to www.operationrenewedhope.org and choose “Network for Good.”  Please designate the gift for specific purpose using “My preference is” then stipulate your preference.

Hurricane Dorian

Wednesday, September 4, 2019

Dear Friends,

HURRICANE DORIAN

ORH is thankful for people who risk their lives to serve and support others in loss after a major disaster.  Dave Spangler, “Flyn4God”, and the pilots he secures for ORH Air Hope are such Christians.  Dave has worked in the Bahamas for years, even starting a small Bible College to train the pastors.

He has directed our efforts through the air for years.  He has written the following to us.

“Good Morning Dr. Jan,  This is to inform you and your folks the Churches we are working with in Abaco Bahamas.  Pastor Robin Waterford (sp) pastors two churches in Marsh Harbour, one is a Haitian ministry and both are sound Baptistic churches preaching the Gospel.  Pastor Randy Crow has pastored New Life Bible Church on Man-O-War Cay which is also a Baptistic church preaching the gospel. Pastor Randy also has a ministry "Island Outreach" reaching out to encourage other pastors of like faith.  We will be showing the love of Jesus Christ to the communities there through those churches.  Our first trip will be as soon as the airport is open and our round-trip expenses are apx. $1,000.00.  Thank you and your folks for your help.  God bless, Dave, Flyn4God”

Hearts with Hands, Ashville, NC, has in place a 53’ trailer of food supplies and much more for the work in Abaco, Bahamas.  This organization has one of the longest histories of relief work in a church environment of any ministry I know.  It has been the pleasure of ORH to work with them over the years.  They are willing to supply the goods, if ORH can find transportation.

ORH thanks the following ministries for joining with us in ministry – First Baptist Church of Westwood Lake, FL, Pastor Marc Mortensen; Calvary Baptist Church, Pastor Gordon Dickson; Faith Baptist Church, St Matthews, SC, Pastor Ernie Medlin; Calvary Baptist Church, Pastor Andrew Haney; Faith Baptist Church, Pastor David Harris; and more.  THANK YOU!

Dear Friends,

HURRICANE DORIAN

The storm has broken away north by northeast in direction and appears to be headed for South Carolina and North Carolina.

ORH has arranged to work with Anchor Baptist Relief from North Carolina, which is Anchor Baptist Church, Dr. Randy Barton.  We have worked with them since 2004.

“Bro. Milton, I know you are familiar with the Anchor Baptist Disaster Network.  We have worked almost every major storm since Hugo.

Our goal is to have a load staged and ready to go but the funds are low.  We currently can buy a load of food for $19,000 plus shipping and have it staged and ready to go.

We have a Church that is ready to receive and distribute for the glory of GOD.   Michael Blanton, Director of Disaster Operations, Anchor Baptist Disaster Network”

Also, Pastor Guy Altizer with Windows of Heaven Ministries, Greenville, South Carolina, sent the following message.

“Keep me posted as to how we can help. Calvary (Calvary Baptist, Simpsonville, SC) is collecting water and paper supplies today and I am prepared to take them to Carl (Carl Wood, Anchor Baptist Church, Little River, SC) when needed. I offered Carl a place for some of his people that may evacuate, and I offered him to find other places for people to stay. I am waiting on word from him. Bro. Guy.”

Please pray that ORH will have the money to buy food, water, and supplies.  Pray that we can find good, strong churches in the storm impact area who loves ministry to the lost.
