India VMA Clinic June 2017

Wednesday, June 28, 2017

Dear Friends,

Once again our efforts to keep VMA clinics going in different parts of the world brings us to India.  Dr. John Paul Moses writes us about his efforts with his brother Titus who is a minister of the Gospel.  Dr. John Paul writes the following.

“Dear Uncle Jan and Dr Daniel's, Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Just wanted to let you know that we are on our way to the leper’s colony in BIJAPUR.

Please pray for us as we are once again. Traveling through the insurgent’s region infested by 'Naxalites'. My vehicle continues to have problems, pray that it wouldn't break down.

We love you in the LORD. Please Pray for my Mom who fell down and has hurt her wrist. She has a Fracture. Mom, Elizabeth and baby are left behind taking care of each other.

Shall keep you updated about tomorrow. We are excited.  Yours faithfully in Christ, JP and Titus.”

After finishing the clinic day we received this from the two medical missionaries.

“I and Titus had a great day today in Bijapur district. I thank you for helping us to come here with the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

The PDF attached contains pictures of their work in the leper colony.  Please download the PDF for more information about the clinic and the preaching of the Gospel in front of a Hindu Temple.

Pray that the funds necessary to conduct these clinics will be available.  Shortly, we will be adding more places to conduct clinics through our Village Medical Assistants program.

Peru Medical Team 2017

Thursday, June 22, 2017

Dear Friends,

Peru has been a very blessed place of ministry for ORH medical teams.  The 2017 team was no different.  God gave us great blessings although the trip itself was very difficult.

Buddy and Loren Fitzgerald once again were the missionary hosts who made our team work possible.  We also were blessed to meet Tim and Barb Whatley who are the parents of Flor Herrera, wife of Alex Herrera our pastor in Pilcopata.

The mission started by flying into Cusco at about 11000 ft in the Andes.  From this lofty height, our team traveled to the jungle floor of the Manu region where our work with Alex and Flor has been on-going.

The trip took 10 hours by bus down the mountains.  The highest point on the trip was about 12,600 ft.  The road was one lane dirt and gravel.  The trip from Cusco and return will be for all of us one of the most challenging of our lives.

The team held the first and second day of clinic in Salvacion where our new missionary friends, Bob and Becky Bass are conducting ministry.  This is a blessing because they have arrived since our first clinic there to establish a church.  We are excited about future ministry with them.

The second site of ministry was Pilcopata where Alex and Flor have been conducting ministry and church services since our first clinic in Pilcopata.  They have a church building now, and are hoping to purchase another building which will be better for ministry.

There were 1000 patients who attend our clinic, and a total of fifty-seven received Christ in both locations.  Now with missionaries in each location, we hope to make this area a focus of ORH ministry for many years to come.

Pray for God’s blessing on the work in this very remote area of Peru.

Medical Mission Summit 2017

Thursday June 22, 2017

Dear Friends

Thank you in advance for the generous time you will spend reading this email about the 2017 Medical Mission Summit jointly presented by Operation Renewed Hope and Maranatha Baptist University on September 21-23, 2017.

This will be the first of its kind in fundamental churches to recruit young people to pursue a life of medical missions, either part time or full time.  Because it is a first time event, the cost has been kept to $75.00 for room, board, and events per young person.

To fill the 150 slots which is being offered, we need to contact the students in churches and Christian schools around the country.  We need your help.

  1. Please, help us broadcast the message so that young people can be challenged to increase their diligence in missions, Bible, math, and science.  This is a very competitive world of education, today.  Please give a copy of this to your science, math, and Bible teachers.

  1. Please enroll and send at least two youth representatives to this very important youth challenge for world missions.

  1. We falso need a list of churches and schools in your knowledge with their emails, so that we can let the pastors and administrations know of this wonderful opportunity for their young people from ninth through twelfth grade.  If you can provide us access to such a list, we would be very judicious and private in its use.

The electronic brochure attached to the email reads eleventh through twelfth grade, but the summit is open to ninth and tenth as well because of the importance of course work in those years of education.

There is an adult tract of classes and workshops concerning medical missions for those adults attending with the young people.

Please help us to reach the churches, schools and the students.

God bless,

Jan Milton
