Dear Friends,
Hurricane Florence
Pastor Monty Kaufman, youth pastor
at Grace Baptist of Wilmington, NC, wrote the following note to ORH. He
has been working very hard to help the church, church families, and the
community of Wilmington.
“It’s
been an emotional roller coaster this week, but the Lord has enabled us to
accomplish much and help many people in our church and community. As you know,
every day is filled with gospel appointments! Our own church/school
facilities are still being dried out as there was much water damage. In
fact we are meeting outside for our Sunday services (which isn't necessarily a
bad thing.)
Thank
you for asking and all you have done for us”
Pray for the coming week at Grace
Baptist. Durham Rescue Mission plans to bring a mobile cook station to
feed a recovering community close to Grace. People are just now able to
get back to their homes. They are also distributing relief supplies to
the community. Nothing like a cup of cold water in Jesus name.
Also, ORH thanks Friendship
Baptist Church, Raleigh, NC, for their efforts to supply relief goods to the
work at Grace. Another load will be going this week.
Please pray for Mission Air Care
and Anchor Baptist Missions for supplying trucks of relief supplies to Grace
and around the state. These are tireless efforts from good men of God.
The work continues in areas around
Lake Waccamaw through Pastor Ledbetter and Victory Baptist Church in
Whiteville, NC. Pastor Ledbetter opened his church for food
distribution. ORH contacted Mission Air Care and Anchor Baptist Missions
for relief supplies which they graciously supplied and delivered.
Pastor Ledbetter’s church opened
for distribution on Saturday, September 29. He wrote the following when
ORH inquired about the distribution.
“Great! 73 folks came for food
& supplies…Quartet from Ambassador Baptist College came in at 2:30 and got
to help. Final count 80 people came for help! Amen!”
Please download the PDF to see the
work at Victory Baptist. Thank God for our relief ministries and churches
working together for the communities of North Carolina.
Thank God for a financial gift
from a major architectural firm in Raleigh, NC. Thank you, Pastor Chuck
Woodruff and Catawba Springs Christian Church for your gracious help in this
effort.
