Dear
Friends,
Pastor
Cover, Arise Baptist Church, wrote the following updates.
“More
than 32,000 residents remain in Texas shelters. As many as 40,000 homes
may have been damaged in Houston and Harris County alone. Almost 210,000
people have registered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for
assistance.”
“We
are working with three different churches that have been flooded. I have been
in contact with all of the pastors. Their biggest need at their churches will
be finances to get them repaired. I have given all of them the ORH forms.
We have several folks who have been flooded out that we are going to be able to
help as well. We are working to get the list compiled of people that need help.
I have pastors helping me with this now. I am in contact with several
churches around town and have a place for the items arriving to go. I am
waiting on the address and information for the loading dock but we now have a
forklift, operator, and dock all promised to us. We need help organizing
trucks, trailers, etc. to coordinate the delivery of supplies to those in
need.”
Jeanie
Mauch Cummings sent a message through facebook which was kind. Jeanie is
not the only one who helps us. We have several who constantly share our
updates. In our next updates, we will mention some of these special
people. Read what Jeanie wrote.
“Love
to see these churches put faith into action William and Shandi Cover &
David Harris and Operation Renewed Hope with Jan Milton are bringing in
truckloads of cleaning supplies, food, water and people to help with cleanup
and providing necessities. Contact operationrenewedhope.org to donate or
volunteer. We've known these men and ministries for years. And Operation
Renewed Hope does amazing work in disaster relief around the world. And now
here in Texas. Thank you. Praying for you.”
