India Leper Clinic

Wednesday, February 10, 2016

Dear Friends,

Operation Renewed Hope is so thankful to work with Dr. John Paul Moses in Bangalore. India.  Dr. Moses works with ORH as a Village Medical Assistant.  He conducts medical clinics on week-ends with funds supplied by ORH.  We want to thank Dr. Jim Starr of Vision 2020 Asia for connecting us to Dr. Moses.  Please read the report given by Dr. Moses.

“Nalgonda District Leprosy Colony Visit Report Feb. 2016, 08-02-2016,  Dear Uncle Jan,  As you know that we have been working among the lepers in India, we were able to go to Nalgonda district lepers colony (700 miles from the place where we live) again this year and continued with our work taking the gospel. We arrived here on Saturday midnight with some supplies at around 1:30 am.
On the Sunday morning, along with the local pastor, we attended the Sunday worship.  I was given the opportunity to preach to the people who had gathered for the church worship as well as the medical clinic.  This is a remote village, isolated exclusively for lepers by the government. Of the 95   people who attended, 11 of them made their decisions for Christ. It was a very special moment for everyone and we all rejoiced and Praised God...!  I spoke to them about the dejected life of the woman with the issue of blood from Mark 5:25-34. How Jesus made her whole from being unclean. She had faith, that Jesus could heal her.  Both physically and spiritually and she was made whole.  I taught them how to get saved quoting from Roman's 10:9-13. And how a spiritually unclean person could be washed from sins by the blood of Jesus forever...!

Mom and Titus spoke to the children, taught them few songs, shared a small story about Zaccheus. We also provided everyone who came in with a special non-vegetarian lunch. They had plenty of it and were satisfied.
I thank you uncle Jan and operation renewed hope for being able to contribute generously towards this ministry. Please go through the pictures.  We distributed bandages and large cotton rolls, pain medicines and multivitamin, minerals and antacids.
The pastor took us to another part of the village where he is praying to renovate his existing shelter for people togather. At presently they do not have windows and flooring, and the height of the walls are short.  Kindly pray for this need, that God would provide soon as they need to do this before the summer starts. Already we could feel the midday heat. Last year several people lost their lives to a destructing heat wave in this region.
Hope that you would continue to pray for me and my family our health, safety and protection to do more work in the days to come.  With sincere gratitude and thankfulness. In Christ,  Dr John Paul Moses”

ORH hopes to have many such medical doctors working with the medical village assistant around the world in the future.

The cost of the week-end clinic was $1145.00.  We have sent $500.00 immediately to Dr. Moses.  We are hoping to send another $500 shortly.
