Dear Friends,
Please read Pastor Driggers report about the work in Congaree
Baptist Church. Please also download the
PDF to see the work that has been accomplished in this 250 year old church in
South Carolina. The flood there was bad,
but God has been so good.
“Dear Jan,
It was good to hear from you and I hope that you had a great holiday. I was
thrilled to hear the amount of help that you have for us, we continue to be
humbled as we see God move on the hearts of individuals and churches with a
willingness to help in the recovery here at Congaree.
Just a
quick update; most of the work that had been in progress ground to a halt
during the holidays (it was good to have a little break) but things have begun
to pick up. Our two offices are functional now (I still need a little furniture
in my office for books and storage), and the church nursery in back up and
running, it is also doubling as one of our Sunday School classes. New doors
have been installed in the fellowship building and a painter friend has been
down this week to finish the painting (most of it) in the fellowship building.
(See the picture attached of these finished projects)
Also
this week we are tearing out the ceiling tiles in the kitchen, which will be
replaced with sheetrock. The major project left in the fellowship building is
the replacement of the flooring and the completion of the kitchen. We have
an architect coming on Friday to take a look at the Sanctuary and make
recommendations for the repairs on it. (This architect is
from Charleston and has experience with historic building)….
You also
mentioned about finding some work teams to help; there is a group who have
come by to help us a couple of times last month, I believe their name is
"hearts with hands". The assistant director said that he thought he
might could get some teams to come help once we got our "prophet's
chamber" functional. His name is Don Jennings and his number is (205)
329-3804 if you would like to contact him and work something out, just let me
know.
Once
again we do thank you for all that you and Operation Renewed Hope has done for
us and we look forward to working with you in the future. May the Lord
richly bless your work. In Christ, Rev Tim Driggers”
Operation Renewed Hope just
heard from Morningside Baptist Church in Greenville,
SC. They will provide a skilled work
team to use the money that ORH has received from the good people who read these
reports and help Pastor Driggers and his congregation. This is certainly an answer to prayer. There is still much to be done to help these
fine people.
If you wish to give by check, please send the check to
Operation Renewed Hope, P.O. Box 43242, Fayetteville, NC 28309. Please designate the gift “Domestic Relief.”
Please, don’t forget our brother’s and sisters in Texas and
Missouri. Thank you to Florence Baptist
Temple in Florence, SC for not forgetting.
God bless,
Jan Milton
