Dear
Friends,
This is a report from Restore Ministries, Greg Rife, concerning Connie Anderson and her children’s home in Haiti. Her ministry buildings were damage by Hurricane Matthew. Please download the pdf with pictures of Connie’s compound.
“Jan,
Just wanted to get you an update on the progress of our Haitian Hurricane
Matthew response – specifically Connie Anderson’s orphanage repairs.
Connie’s generator is fully functional, her solar panel system has been
repaired, she has a brand new gate and front entrance, and for the first time
has a wonderful fence around the public areas of the property. The
materials have been purchased for the back half of the fencing and should be
completed in the coming weeks. We have a verbal commitment form a church
to replace her wind generators and, although not all the repairs are done at
the clinic, it is operating 2 days a week. The main dormitory roof that
was damaged that you sent money for has still not been replaced, however the
majority of the materials are finally on sight to do the work. The road
up to Connie’s was so bad after the hurricane that it took months to get our
first load of materials and then the rainy season began soon after the first
load, causing more delays. Sometime in the next few weeks crews will
begin to remove the old roof, re-support the dorm for the new concrete roof,
and begin construction. As per our last conversation, we are still about
$5000 short of funds to complete the remodel and repairs of the main
dorm. Just wanted to give you an update on our progress and to say thank
you to you and your donors for your generous support of our Haitian Hurricane
Matthew response. Your support is invaluable and we pray the Lord blesses
your efforts. Talk to you soon. In His Service, Greg Rife”
Greg has
worked so hard over the past year with all of the disasters both domestic and
foreign. Pray that his health and strength holds. Pray for his
family also.
