Village Medical Clinics

Wednesday, November 30, 2016

Dear Friends,

ORH has branched into a new form of medical ministry, Village Medical Assistant.  These are missionaries willing to form national medical professional teams and conduct medical clinics with the financial support of ORH.

Please download the PDF to see the clinic conducted by Dr. John Paul Moses in India.  He and his family now have formed a national team with two medical doctors, one dentist, a nurse, and an evangelistic preaching team.

Daniel Jones, PA is directing this new ministry.  He wrote the following report from the updates sent to him.

“October

Malawi – 817 patients seen in 3 bush villages.  These villages have no health care.  The people here must walk for hours to visit a clinic.    There were over 100 professions of faith.  There are new church plants in each of these villages.   Dr. Chapman is working with the pastors in these villages.

November

Cambodia – Dr. Tom Johnson and his team saw 100 patients in the Forest Da Pong village on November 17th and 18th.   There were 23 who accepted Christ.     Plans are in the making for a new church in this village.   The surround villages also want to host a VMA clinic.

India – Dr John Paul and his team saw 110 patients in the Lakkavahalli village as an outreach of Lakkavahalli Baptist Church.     Most of the people who came were Muslim and Hindu.  There is much hostility to the preaching of the gospel in this region of India.    Thankfully, the clinic was well received, and there were no problems.   All the patients were introduced to the church there and able to hear the gospel.  Sixty-seven people made professions of faith.”

VMA clinics offer many blessings.  1. The clinics encourage missionaries to conduct evangelistic medical clinics with the financial support of ORH  2. The clinics increase the presence of ORH, and its world impact for the Gospel.  3. The clinics build groups of national medical professionals for work with ORH in many different countries.  4. The clinics lead to more people saved and more churches encouraged or started.

The India clinic cost $1057.00, and the Cambodia Clinic cost $550.00.  A very small amount of money for such wonderful spiritual and physical return.

Pray we can continue this financial load which is new for our ministry.

India Children's Home

Tuesday, November 22, 2016

Dear Friends,

Through your regular support, ORH supports children’s homes in our Homes of Hope.  Currently, ORH supports homes regularly in India and Nepal.  This year has been a special blessing to work also with Oleg and Lori Enskky in the Ukraine with their feeding station for children.

Below is a report from Pastor Athem in Gangtok, Sikkim, India concerning their children’s home which ORH supports regularly.

“Greetings to you all in the blessed name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We would like you to know that we are so grateful to you for prayers and financial supports for our humble ministries amongst the orphan children and non-believers in India. The orphans (a girl and boys) are doing well and growing big. All of them had received Christ as their personal Savior. Some have been baptized too. Some of them had completed their high school and left us but we still have 11 of them with us. Two are now studying theology to become missionaries in Myanmar and in India. Some of them are in high school reading in class 9 & 10, the smaller ones are at Grace Academy."

Please download the PDF to see the work.

God bless,

Jan Milton

Haiti Update

Monday, November 21, 2016

Dear Friends,

Air Hope pilots, Michael Coupe and Dave Crispell, flew Mrs Sarah Bennett and Pastor Cherubin into Jeremie, Haiti, last week.  Mrs. Bennett writes the following.

“My recent trip to LeCayes and Jeremie to survey the hurricane damage has left me so disheartened. Hundreds and hundreds are living under the stars!! Their poorly constructed homes are in piles of rubble on the ground. One family we met was living under a tree, and I’m sure there are hundreds more just like them. Other families who fortunately know someone whose house is not on the ground pile into a small corner to sleep the night. Jeremie and the western part of the peninsula look like a total wasteland – and there is no help from the government!! ONLY GOD!!!

Please, please, please pray – and may God help us do as much as we can to ease their pain and suffering!!”

She will be working to start repair of the homes in a mountain village and also around Jeremie.  Operation Renewed Hope will join in these efforts.

NC and Haiti Update

Monday, November 14, 2016

Dear Friends,

North Carolina

ORH received this from Pastor Cody Mansfield of Tabernacle FWB Church in Kinston, NC.  His initial costs for the complete dry-out, cleaning, and chemical treatment is $41,000.00.  Operation Renewed Hope is sending his church $5000.00.

For anyone who has the following abilities please email ORH.  Tabernacle needs a NC licensed electrician and a NC licensed plumber to check their building.  They also need sheet rockers, tile layers, sheet rock finishers, and general carpenters.  If your church can help, please let ORH know immediately.

Pray for Pastor Tim Daniel’s church, New Testament Baptist Church, Kinston, NC.  They have worked to the point of exhaustion in their community to help people.  Now they are engaging in the second round of work.  Please pray for them.

New Testament was not damaged, but they saw the need to help others in the community for the sake of Christ.  This is the kind of blessings we want to share.

Haiti

We have received photos and reports from pilots, Michael Coupe and Dave Crispell, who flew into Jeremie on November 11th, seeking to help the people.  They delivered tarps, toiletries, clothing, and scriptures to those around that area.  Mrs. Sara Bennett of Mission for Haiti flying with them met with a nurse, coming from the mountains, who will help distribute the goods and discouraged people from taking the materials because of fear.

Monday, November 14, Mrs. Bennett and the pilots will fly back to begin the process of determining the appropriate course of action with so many left without a dwelling.  Together with Pastor Joshua and Pastor Jonas, they hope to determine their help for Les Cayes and the villages around Jeremie.

Pray they can find the building materials close in Jeremie and Les Cayes.  Otherwise it will mean the materials must be brought in from Jacmel which is difficult at least 6 hours trip by truck.

Also, pray for their safety.

Hurricane "Matthew" Update

Thursday, November 10, 2016

Dear Friends,

Bahamas

ORH just received this from Dave Spangler, Air Hope pilot.  He is thanking all who have made it possible for him to help the Bahamian victims of Hurricane “Matthew.”  ORH has committed fuel money, $1000.00, for his plane.

Pray for Dave as he continues to help the people of Lowe Sound.

“Just returned from Andros, Bahamas where the community of Lowe Sound was destroyed. This is where we have one of our Bible Institutes. The food crisis is over but now a great need for clothing and bedding. Many only have the clothes that are on their back. Next will be rebuilding. See pictures attached

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the generous gift you gave for the people of Lowe Sound Andros Bahamas. You helped make it possible for me to fly over 600 pounds of food cleaning supplies and over $1,000.00 worth of sheets and blankets. Sixteen years of teaching and preaching would go for naught if we did not put our faith to work and show love in meeting their physical needs. Attached are some of the pictures - the open vacant lots are where houses use to be.”

Haiti

Flying in the Air Hope coalition of pilots and organizations, pilots, Michael Coupe and Dave Crispell, have flown tarps and clothing supplies into Haiti for ORH.  These items are now in the hands of Pastor Cherubin for needed distribution.

Pastor Marc Mortensen and his church, First Baptist of Westwood Lake loaded Mike’s plane with tarps and other necessities.  Michael also stopped at Iglesia Bautista Cristiana, Pastor Pedro da Cunha and Pastor Yadin Rodriguez, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.  There the church people loaded clothing from a clothing drive by this very gracious church for the work in Haiti.

On November 12th, Mrs. Sarah Bennett of Mission for Haiti will fly with Michael and Dave to Jeremie for an evaluation of the best possible way to help this ravaged area.  ORH has already sent $4000.00 for food through Mission for Haiti.  Now a decision must be made about stabilizing those who are in the area with their lodging.

Connie Anderson’s children’s home was struck with the winds of “Matthew.”  In co-ordination with Restore Ministries, Greg Rife, ORH has committed to help pay for a new dormitory roof for her children.  Please pray as Greg, helps her with recovery of her much needed buildings.

ORH thanks all who have helped with the needs.  ORH will keep you informed about the work as it progresses.

Please download the PDF.

If you wish to give by check, please send the check to Operation Renewed Hope, P.O. Box 43242, Fayetteville, NC 28309.  Please designate the gift for Hurricane “Matthew.”

God bless,

Syrian Refugees in Lebanon Need Help

Sunday, November 6, 2016

Dear Friends,

The impact of the refugee situation in Lebanon is very great.  Syrian people who fled to Lebanon are in Great need.  Pastor Karim Dahdah of Gospel Baptist Church in Zahle, Lebanon is attempting to give the Gospel and also meet the needs of the Syrians.

Below is a message from Sam Stricklin, American preacher, missionary, who has dedicated his life to the training of preachers in the Arabic world.

“Message from the pastor of the Gospel Baptist Church in Zahle, Lebanon, where most of the Syrian refugees cross the border from Syria to Lebanon:  "Please pray for us because we have 200 Syrian refugee families who need food and diesel fuel for heat now that the weather is getting colder.. Please pray with us for this crucial need.  We need another miracle."  Thank you so much for your burden for and desire to help these people.  Sincerely, Sam”

ORH has pledged $2000.00 to these needs.  We have sent $1000.00, and next week the final $1000.00 will go out.  Pray that we can keep this up with all the other disasters that ORH is working.  We cannot begin to let up because the people in the disasters need the Gospel of Christ and help to restore their lives.

Pray that the efforts put forth will lead to many receiving Christ.  Please download the PDF for pictures of the work in Lebanon.
