Ecuador Earthquake

Dear Friends,

ORH has received a message from Sid Messer, missionary to Ecuador.  Sid is a missionary with Gospel Fellowship Association.  He is in the heart of the earthquake devastation.  Please read his communication and the need.

“We did not sustain any major damages to our home. But a home of a lady in our church was devastated. The home is not livable, and she and her family are now living with her brother who is housing five other families. Many families have very little to eat and drink and the earthquake has put a halt to people working. Therefore, they are not earning money to buy basic necessities.”

Fiji Update

Fiji Update

Fiji missionaries are reporting back.  ORH is so thankful that your gifts that provided for this work.  Below you will read the reports.  Download the PDF’s for pictures and further information.

Korey Mears wrote thanking ORH for your provision.

     “Bro. Milton,  Thank you for the $2000.00 that was sent. We have just completed rebuilding one house in the village, and repairing several other homes that were damaged. We had a group of young men from Alert Academy who are trained for disaster relief.

     The funds you sent purchased the tools and supplies necessary to do our rebuilding projects and to buy food to support the men as they did the work. I have attached a picture for you.

     We have the next team of builders coming May 10-30 who will be helping us rebuild the church that was completely destroyed as well as two or three more houses, depending on the funds raised.  I am sending out a newsletter in a day on all we have done and are doing.  God Bless, Bro. Kory Mears”

Missionary Paul Daku writes the following.

     “There are some church members who need to rebuild their homes.  We would like to help with building supplies, tin for their roofs, clothing and basics of living such as mattresses and pillows and other household items, as well as school supplies for the children.  Nearly every school in the North lost at least part of their roof and books and supplies as well.   We have also targeted relatives of our church members here in Lautoka who live in the North.

     At each place where we already took the relief supplies, we were able to share the Gospel with the families who were receiving the relief items.  Tracts were passed out, and as much as possible, the Gospel was shared in English as well as their mother tongue, and tracts were given to everyone.  We were also able to give a Bible to each family.

Please pray for these workmen and the Fiji Islands where they work.  The cyclone that struck the Islands was massive with some reports of 225 mph winds.  Thank God for these missionaries.

Announcing ALBANIA 2016 Trip

Dear Friends,

Please read below.  We are in need of nurses and non-medical workers for Albania 2016.  Please respond to this email with your interest in the trip.  We then will contact you about your response.

If you are a medical provider, please send immediately a copy of your diploma, your current license, a CV, and the picture page of your passport.  Check your passport expiration date.  You must at least 6 months before expiration.

Trips for 2016 - Albania

This trip will go to Albania.  We will work with Missionary Mike Fiocchi and other national Pastors.  We will be working with Brother Fiocchi with a new church plant in the village of Laknas.  Laknas has a small church that was started about a year ago, but the villagers have relocated here from the mountains and have very little.  They have asked our help in reaching the area with the truth and medicine.  

Our goal will be to help the people in their village with medical care and to conduct evangelism and church strengthening ministries.  The medical care will consist of general medical, pediatrics, dental and optometry.  We will work for four clinic days.

Dates:  July 16 – 24, 2016

Cost:  $2500.00 to $2800.00 (This depends of Air Fare at the time of purchase)

Travel Insurance:  Provided

Accommodations:  This trip has a low level of difficulty.  There will be travel by bus and bathroom arrangements may be primitive at times.

Malawi

Dear Friends,

Below is a message from Eric Chapman missionary to Malawi, Africa.  Eric has appealed to Operation Renewed Hope for help with the crop loss and famine among the churches of his region of Malawi.   Please read Eric’s report on the current situation.

“Two weeks ago I put out a letter about the drought situation here in Malawi.  We have to date raised just over $10,000 for African Hunger.  We will wait one more week and then wire the funds over and begin to help those we can.  If possible we would like to help every family in our church-planting network that has 135 churches. This would cost about $24,000 and amount to $20 per family. This goal would be for a 50-kilogram sack of unprocessed corn and the cost of transporting it to them in the villages.

Even with all of these hardships in Malawi, we see the opportunity to preach the Gospel and offer the people the great hope of eternal life in Christ. Pray that the churches will look to Christ and receive some measure of revival in the midst of all this suffering. May our hearts be stirred to help and pray for these our Malawian brothers and sisters in Christ.”

ORH has committed $3000.00 to help the Malawi people survive.  Thank God for missionaries who seek the souls of men for Christ, and they also seek the welfare of those in danger of perishing physically.

South Carolina Update

Dear Friends,

The work at Congaree Baptist Church in Columbia, SC area continues to be done after the flooding.  Morningside Baptist Church has been very instrumental in helping Pastor Driggers and the congregation to remodel the once very badly flood-damaged buildings.

Operation Renewed Hope was privileged to work through such a great church to help Congaree Baptist rebuild.  Morningside sent us this message from Pastor Driggers and the congregation.

“From Pastor Driggers Congaree:

’Bro Tom we got your check yesterday for $7206.20. Thank you for holding that for us. The tile is going in it's just a slow process but we praise the Lord for His goodness. I'll send some pics’"

Operation Renewed Hope, through you, was able to help Congaree back on its feet to minister the Word of God.  We thank all who have helped.
